  1. Yesterday we arrived in Queens around noon. Chilled for a few hours and then had birthday party number one for Peter at Nicks pizza. Had some great New York style pizza and an awesome chocolate mousse birthday cake. Today we woke up and had a nice leisurely breakfast at a local diner. Chilled for a few hours, then headed into Manhattan. First stop, Whole Foods to pick up lunch provisions. Then had a nice picnic lunch outside the cloisters. Then inside for a nice tour. Very Harry Potterish so a big hit with the 6 year old crowd. Next over to Central Park zoo. Actually, got to see the snow leopard, which was very cool. Last, we headed over to Ninja Sushi for Peter's birthday party number two. The food was actually pretty good but not cheap. The highlight of the evening for me was getting a field commission as a Ninja from my son as I blocked one of the attacking Ninjas on our way in. Busy, but very fun day.
  2. USA, USA!
  3. Ooooh. That sounds like it may be pretty nasty then.
  4. Spyware doctor with antivirus was the only software that finally cleaned out my XP workstation. Malwarebytes and superantispyware also were useful on my netbook. Haven't had any problems once I upgraded to Win 7. It appears to have much better defenses against malware, adware, Trojans and viruses than XP.
  5. Yeah, the beef here for the most part is hormone filled flesh, unless you can find range-fed. Lamb is good. Had a lamb Ruben at FFF that was awesome.

    Canjam 2010.

Excellent job as usual Peter. Now I really get to see what I missed.
  7. If I can find some free time I will definitely do this. You are my hero.
  8. Here's to hoping those power protection units did their job.
  9. Welcome to the club.
  10. OK, then all is good.
  11. Good luck Bryan.
  12. Where were these phones located? I'm asking as neither Rudistor nor any of his US representatives registered as vendors.
  13. @ Fitz - You were definitely more at ease at CanJam than at DanJam. I just attributed that to the fact that you did not have to think about spending another 10 hours in the car with Brent on the way back. Anyway, congratulations on figuring things out and sharing with us. Great seeing you again
  14. Yep, visiting family-in-laws and taking Peter to Ninja Sushi for his birthday. Should be fun.
  15. Nintendo DSLite for the upcoming 2 1/2 week trip to NY and SC.
  16. Yep. My iPad is grandfathered in, so I will at least keep that going through the summer travel season.
  17. Yeah, I have never had any problems with either EAC or Foobar. Just prefer the interface of dbpoweramp and I really like accurateRip and their album cover artwork feature, which has been significantly better in the latest revision.

The really cool kids arrived on Wednesday
  19. If you are using dbpoweramp try the following. After Folder --> The actual drive and folder location you want to write the transcoded files too After Dynamic -->[iFCOMP][iFVALUE]album artist,[album artist],Various Artists[]\[album]\[track][artist][][iF!COMP][iFVALUE]album artist,[album artist],[artist][]\[album]\[track] [artist][] - [title] That should put everything in folders by artist and then album name under artist. It will also group compilation albums under the "Various Artists" folder.
  20. As others have said I am really appreciative that you two are comfortable enough with the loonies here to share personal details of your life. It really makes me appreciate this great community all the more. My only regret from the last weekend was not being able to spend more time with both of you. It was a real pleasure to finally meet you in person Steve and to see Shelly again and even talk a little math geek stuff. You guys are definitely the cool kids. So when is the Texas meet?
  21. Dbpoweramp is definitely the way to go especially if you have a multicore processor. I usually go FLAC to ALAC but it has always worked flawlessly. Beefy pretty much nailed it concerning the batch interface and ability to do bit-perfect rips easily and quickly.
  22. Feels good to be home. Not looking forward to unloading the car though.
  23. Just getting ready to check out and drive back home. Also wanted to say thanks boys and girls for making the meet fun and enjoyable.
