  3. I don't think I will bother with the lab lackey and spreadsheet but I did buy the thermometer gun and tire pressure gauge.
  4. Just registered for a Test and Tune autocross event. Not a competition but a chance to run the autocross course 30+ times and make adjustments (pretty much tire pressure in my case) and I paid extra to have an instructor ride along throughout the day. Also I will have gotten my new rear sway installed a few days before. Should be lots of fun, though it's not really racing. There is also a track day scheduled in August at the new Dominion Raceway road course but they have been getting cancelled due to SCCA not approving the track yet so I've not registered. Would require a taking a day off which is less of an issue.
  5. Yamaha YSP 2500 only negative that came to light is that I had to run a wired connection to the sub as it would cut out sometimes but I think that's because our furnace is on the other side of the wall emitting EMI
  6. I love my Yamaha YSP sound projector soundbar. Meets all your needs
  7. Sorry to hear that Jeff. I hope you bounce back better. Look at Dinny.

That was a lot of fun even if I was driving poorly and missing breaking points left and right. I have never done "the ring" before, that was cool but doing it for the firs time in an Le Mans prototype was probably not my best choice.

  10. They probably just won't last as long. At least on my Nikon there is a battery condition screen.

I too am unwilling to "sell" my ER4P back to them for $75. I will keep an eye if I can get them on sale somewhere but I barely use in ears anymore.
  13. Sous vide porterhouse. Around 2 hrs at 129F and seared in a grill pan (it's raining). Perfect medium rare.

Today I discovered that I could run a virtual big screen display using the aptly named BigScreen. This allows me to run Dirt Rally on a virtual 100" curved screen sitting feet away. While not full the full VR experience (which is coming soon) it is pretty incredible. After that I have re-configured the rig to sit in the corner of my media room and used a little used guest room tv for the display until I get into the Oculus. This makes just ducking in for a game easier. More work to be done on the wire management and I need to sell my TrackIR now but overall very pleased. The only negative I can come up with is the least glare on the Oculus is annoying (Vive is supposed to be better due to different fresnel lenses). It's a minor issue in the racing I've done so far though I'm guessing it is be more annoying in a night rally. Edit: ran a night rally stage and while present I think it was basically a non issue for gameplay
  15. OK well whatever you guys want to believe. http://www.stereophile.com/content/bryston-bda-1-da-converter-measurements#2MVx0b1DM5KVoYli.97 http://www.stereophile.com/content/bryston-4b-power-amplifier-measurements#YH9UIb3SWs3tPxP1.97
  16. What makes them horrible? I have heard and liked some Bryston stuff and I have seen well respected people use their stuff, so I took an interest just looked up the measurements on the Bryston BDA-1 and they are very good so your statement seems to me to be incorrect. You may not care for their choices but "horrible" output stages don't give 0.0007% distortion.

On topic: Congrats to Cleveland. Off topic: You'll be happy to know that I didn't catch any fish yesterday morning so it still worked.

  22. Sorry Chris, my vote is that you do it (it will not take long) and let them realize how stupid it is.
  23. The Etys work great. I even use the small ones with our 4 and 3 year olds

I discovered that the Rift doesn't have displayport and my hdmi is feeding my home theater. Here's hoping the displayport adapter I have just ordered is up to the task.
