  • Hi Guys, I figured I would post this to my friends here at HC.  I certainly support the cause as a Type 1 Diabetic and I do not believe I will have any trouble meeting my numbers but any support for t

  • Made it to Hill Climber designation last night by surpassing the $1500 limit.    I assume this means they will provide a volunteer to push me up hills during the ride.

  • Awesome job Jeff!  Who is that slim guy holding your bike for the picture?

Good riding, Jeff.  You are going to be one tired boy after this one, and like Al said, stay hydrated in that heat.

Put Zipps on, upgrade to Red 22, more CF for parts, ti bolts everywhere, carbon cages, shave the tires, lightweight latex tubes (or go Tubular).

Best of both worlds.

Barring that, my ass was sore for a week doing 115% over my longest ride... another tick for comfort.

Oh cool, Steve visited you? :)

Have a good ride Jeff!

Comfort trumps weight easily. What distance are you doing or planning on?

It is a 56 mile course with an option to extend to 68.

Probably the shorter as severe thunderstorms are supposed to be rolling in on Sunday.

Thanks Chris.  Hopefully it will be non-eventful.

Jeff, I've been thinking about you today. Hope your ride is AWESOME, and the weather isn't too bad! Proud of you, man.

Done. Rained about half the time. Only issue I had was misaligned cleats so my right foot is really sore now. I am definitely going to train for the Century next time as I do not feel tired at all at the end of 52.

Thanks again for everyone's support.

Great job! See that you ignored us and went Cervelo :)

Funny that it rained because we have not seen a drop all day.

Awesome, Jeff! I think I'm going to train for the metric next year, at least. Love the pic, man!

Yeah never got a chance to switch out brake pads. I really had no discomfort on the Cervelo.

First Red Rider across the finish line in my route so I consider that as a win.

BIG win!

Edit: I see you made it in time for lunch after all!

Yeah. Unfortunately BBQ was awful. Some of the worst I have ever had.

Jeff, it's settled... next year, you're doing the Chattanooga one. The chicken and burgers were great, and the almost-mexican food wasn't bad either. Not to mention you'll come in for the VIP dinner for some pasta, perhaps with a side of Lynskey.
