Knuckledragger Posted October 23 Report Posted October 23 RIP David Ball, one half of Soft Cell and The Grid. Everyone knows "Tainted Love" (for good reason) but in my world The Grid was the absolute sweet spot for UK rave culture with pop sensibility.  9
blessingx Posted October 27 Report Posted October 27 Later she starred in Dead Women in Lingerie with Jerry Orbach. Dream casting.     1

skullguise Posted October 28 Report Posted October 28 Loved his work with Keith Jarrett for Standards and other LP's as well! RIP Jack!
Craig Sawyers Posted October 28 Report Posted October 28 (edited) RIP Prunella Scales, who played Sybil Fawlty in Fawlty Towers. Aged 92 after a long decline from Alzheimers. 93 apparently. https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/cjd0yn5gyndo Edited October 28 by Craig Sawyers 6
mikeymad Posted October 28 Report Posted October 28 ^^ Very sad. She was brilliant in FT. ... and I got to know about her condition over a decade ago and happy that she made it this long. I use to watch her canal boat program all the time. I would just ask my partner, 'Old People on a Boat?' RIP Prunella... 2
Craig Sawyers Posted October 29 Report Posted October 29 Timothy West - also a great actor of stage and screen - predeceased his wife Prunella aged 90 in late 2024. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Timothy_West 3
Craig Sawyers Posted October 29 Report Posted October 29 I was lucky enough to meet Prunella Scales around 20 years ago. She gave an acting masterclass to our local pro theatre company, Creation Theatre, that for some reason we got invited to. She was very nice, and was really tiny. 4
Knuckledragger Posted November 4 Report Posted November 4 Dick Cheney croaked. Remember when he was the most evil man in America?
morphsci Posted November 4 Report Posted November 4 Using a Star Wars reference Dick Cheney is/was Emperor Palpatine (Darth Sideous), Rumsfeld was Darth Vader and Trump is Kylo Ren (A pale imitation wannabe of Vader). Just Sayin’ 5
mikeymad Posted November 4 Report Posted November 4 Within my PLOWED whisky group we have an annual gathering called Ardbeggeddon (which some know about). It takes place in an undisclosed location. Many years ago this became known as "Dick Cheney's Secret Bunker" as a joke for posting purposes. I have proposed to the group that the location should be changed to "Dick Cheney's Crypt". 4 1 3

Maybe you can use a photo from his Vice Presidential Library? 3 1
skullguise Posted November 5 Report Posted November 5 I think to honor his memory, Liz Cheney should run for office again.....as a Democrat.
swt61 Posted November 6 Report Posted November 6 (edited) I don't know that I find much honor in his memory, however I find honor in his daughter. I don't agree with many of her policy ideas, but she stood up to Trump when he trampled the constitution. One of the very few that did. I find that very honorable! Edited November 6 by swt61 2
