Oh, how didn't I think of that. If the damn 701 needed about 1000 hours, these, being moar betta' surely will need about 2000  >:D

I just use a higher temperature to speed the whole process up. Plus, the Maillard reaction leads to a smoother sound.

It is big news. You've probably got to say something, even if only that you're not reviewing them and you're talking to AKG to find out what the eff's wrong.

No company is beyond reproach.  I say write what you want, but don't shy away from writing a bad review if the phones are bad.  If AKG has a pissy fit and takes it out on you, then that's not going to look good for them.  You are the [H] of headphones; shine a light on both good and bad.  That is healthy for the hobby.

If AKG takes it out on you because of your honest review of their bad product, I would throw my 702 outta the window from 9th floor and record it and post it on YouTube.

I'm a AKG fans but they can't do that to you, Tyll.

Tyll, let's redo this 300 hours of burn in video like for the k701 ;).

got my k812 today to show at the austin headphone meet on jan 18. even dealer cost quite high. not worth it. not natural sounding. too bright, female vocals etched. airy and comfy, well and good, but not up to T1 or Audeze or even fostex th-600/th-900. not sure what to do with dealer demo pair if show doesnt go well. sigh. reminds me of the new denon totl cans, which are mid-fi. i asked my rep to tAke those back, for which i paid dearly. hopefully someone will beg to buy them.

I'm sure there is a Chinese buyer out there who will beg you for it if you are good at BSing.

The Chinese HiFi community is still raving about rudi and ultrasone after all, not to mention Lehmann, Graham Slee, hedgehog SAC KK and the sorts. Many even still think D7100 is a worthy successor of D7K... All thanks to some douchebag bloggers...

Position on K812 evolvng with more listening. An engineer's can.

Oh my GOD.  Patrick82 has a cable company!?!?  So much to read... and wait, there's videos.  Amazing. :D

I love Patrick's quote" To get the best sound, you should spend at least 95% of your entire system on our cables, 4% on our tweaks, and 1% on electronics". Pure delusion

Exracts bass and detail that's not in the original program material.

That amounts to digital eisegesis.

Having read many of his posts, I decided that (hyperbole aside) he must have very sensitive hearing. He probably really is hearing all those differences that I probably can't, which is just as well as I can't be bothered with that much tweaking.

Nope.  Shenanigans!

Tyll put up his review and it was no surprise, other then that he actually went through with posting it. I was thinking though looking at the inside of the cups, perhaps a mod like the HD800 would help? It looks quite similair with the ring around the driver being a reflective surface. Anyway...

I might start reading the thread on the other place for comedic value, i smell a shitstorm brewing hahahaha.
