  • I think the kings will have trouble with any of the top world cup teams.  It's hard to cover that big a net with the butterfly style.

  • Just turned on Sharks vs. Kings and the lawyer logos are up 1 - nil!  Make that 2 - nil!  Wait, I mean 3 0 nil!   BEAT LA BEAT LA BEAT LA BEAT LA BEAT LA BEAT LA BEAT LA BEAT LA BEAT LA BEAT LA BEAT

That's still "old school" to me......   Had to look it up, but the 3rd man in rule and no players off the bench rule were created in the mid-to-late 70's!  That surprised me a bit, I thought 3rd man

Game on, indeed, Greg.  You'll be needing that wine, and lots more watching the Rangers win the next 3.  (Dinny made me say that)

Love playoff hockey.

Turned on the game two minutes before the Kings tied it at 2 apiece. Fuckity fuck

Hoping the Rangers can pull it together to extend the season. I don't want it to end tonight.

Boyle looks like Mandy Patinkin.  "Hello.  You killed my father.  Prepare for my game winning goal."

Oh well, it's over. Congrat to the Kings fans. Condolences to the Monkey Family.

Gene-  'nuff said.   ^-^

Sorry Dinny.  The good news is I am due another free wine dinner from my Ranger fan out here.

The Rangers played an awesome game.

The Rangers actually played several good games.  Just got beat by a team that played a little better and caught a few more breaks, had some good timing, etc.  4 out of 5 games decided by one goal.  What an amazing sport when it's played at such a high level.

Congrats, Kings.  The better team won.  Just look at shots on goal - last night it was Kings 51, Rangers 30.

Sorry Dinny and true Ranger fans - hurts to lose when your team plays so hard.

That was a really good game last night, the Rangers had their chances but couldn't finish.

The kings never let up.

Congrats to the Kings on the title; and congrats to the Rangers for a heck of a run, they showed themselves quite well despite the 4-1 games result.  And this against a Kings team that was just a powerhouse so it seems.....

Congrats to the Kings. They are no doubt the toughest team in the league with the best goalie. the Rangers should hold their heads high though. They fought hard.

On to the World Cup...

Yup, the better team won.  Kudos to the Kings.  But not better by as much as the 4-1 series score indicates.  A bounce here and there and that series goes 7.  But the Kings know how to finish and they are relentless and that was the difference.  Rangers were absolutely exhausted by third period of every game.  Still, the Kings didn't lead very often for a team that won 4-1.  But they got the job done when it counted.

NYR will need to learn from this and get a couple of guys who can clog the middle and actually like to play in the dirty areas.  Nash isn't that guy anymore.

Nice synopsis, Monkey.  The speed of the Rangers kept freaking me out, sometimes made the larger Kings look like lumbering beasts, but that size served them well in the trenches.

That last game was a nail-biter for sure, kudos to all involved.
