mikeymad Posted June 30 Report Posted June 30 ^^ thanks for the reminder. I have been waiting to watch the full 2025 Le Mans, but there have only been highlights. Until now... I have not carved out the time to marathon this yet, but at least I know it is there. :} 1
naamanf Posted July 4 Report Posted July 4 (edited) Not yet open but I have one client, and he just happens to be a bit of a car guy. Every time I show up at his garage some new amazing car shows up. Came in today and these showed up. They also arrived with a new 911 Turbo S, but that was at his house. Edited July 4 by naamanf 6 1
Grahame Posted July 4 Report Posted July 4 "a bit of a car guy" Where did you learn such understatement? Would you like a Nice Cup of Tea? 2

HiWire Posted July 10 Report Posted July 10 (edited) That's about as far as they can take these cars without becoming silhouette racers... you'll see different levels of extreme car building in the various classes of WTAC (a Porsche 968 has done really well). The cars have massive power and aero to achieve record times (RWD, AWD, FWD)... without the restrictions you seen in regular wheel-to-wheel GT racing. In Japan, Tsukuba's track is used for many Time Attack competitions and WTAC has been doing the same in Sydney for years (there was a lot of coverage on the website www.speedhunters.com). Grahame Posted July 11 Report Posted July 11 Some interesting vehicles at the Goodwood Festival of Speed. 4
TMoney Posted July 20 Report Posted July 20 (edited) Finished 11th out of 44 drivers at my last autocross. Goal was top 15 so I’m happy. Turns out putting better tires on the car makes a big difference. Who could have guessed? You can brake harder, carry more speed, and get back on power earlier. These aren’t even that fast of a tire too! Edited July 20 by TMoney 9
n_maher Posted July 20 Report Posted July 20 As the official patron saint of painters tape I appreciate the graphics but still feel like there’s room to grow there and that we should employ a kid with a Cricut to do you better. 😁 3
TMoney Posted July 31 Report Posted July 31 (edited) I'll be honest... I am pretty disappointed with these times, quick as they are. If anything that reiterate why you'd buy a 911 GT3 over a 'vette. I think it was a mistake to not use professional race car drivers. For comparison, here is Jorg in the refreshed GT3. Edited July 31 by TMoney 2
kevin gilmore Posted July 31 Report Posted July 31 owning a z06 with a zr1 on order, i am more than happy with these results. z06 beating cars that are 3 times the price or more, seems pretty impressive. and driven by gm engineers. pretty sure a real race car driver would do quite a bit better. 3
TMoney Posted July 31 Report Posted July 31 (edited) Vettes are great value, no doubt. I hope you get out to Autobahn and Road America and give your new beast a proper thrashing once it comes. A shame to only street drive such a machine. I'm sure the GM engineers are amazing drivers, but there is a different level of speed from people who get paid to drive. Edited July 31 by TMoney
