March 18, 201511 yr Movement looks to be very impressive for the price. The looks are okay but a 70 hour Power Reserve, Certified movement in a Pelagos would be hard to pass up.
March 18, 201511 yr Think Jeff is just saying that a Mk. 2 Pelagos with an in-house COSC movement would be an insta-kop.
March 18, 201511 yr Aesthetically I like the Pelagos better, but that's just because it looks much like the Submariner and like you, the yellow accents aren't my thing. I like the power reserve feature and the overall looks.
March 18, 201511 yr Yeah the Sea Dweller is more like the Pelagos, but SD and Submariner aren't that different actually. For some reason I've liked the Submariner since I was a kid and it's perhaps my favourite watch, so anything resembling it will fit me better. Huge bias OTOH 42mm is the largest size my wrist can wear without me looking like a clown.
March 18, 201511 yr Think Jeff is just saying that a Mk. 2 Pelagos with an in-house COSC movement would be an insta-kop. Yep, I am much more intrigued by the new line of in house movements that appear to be very well built than the watch itself.
March 18, 201511 yr I don't have any watches over 40mm either but have certainly been tempted by the Pelagos a couple of times. Currently noodling over getting a Breguet Type XX, as I'd like to try a Lemania-based chrono.
March 18, 201511 yr Put me in the "not a fan of the yellow" camp and with your recently acquired collection Jacob, I'm surprised you're still shopping.

March 18, 201511 yr I personally wouldn't buy a current watch as an investment. As a watch, sure, but there are better ways to speculate.
March 18, 201511 yr Looks like the Pelagos will also be available in blue and the line will be updated to use their new in-house MT5612 movement. http://www.tudorwatch.com/#/en/pelagos/introduction/
March 18, 201511 yr Big fan of that watch Stretch. I recommend you purchase immediately. Twist my rubber arm! Looks like the Pelagos will also be available in blue and the line will be updated to use their new in-house MT5612 movement. http://www.tudorwatch.com/#/en/pelagos/introduction/ Blue on a bracelet is a probable sale to me. Need to see the color in the metal.
March 18, 201511 yr I wouldn't expect the price to change much, if any. Their new movement is looking very spartan and unfinished. They were obviously going for a price-point with the lack of decoration.
March 18, 201511 yr You don't get Rolex at all. Thankfully Tudor hasn't been following Rolex all too closely. The value of the USD vs Euro is a big enough issue from a pricing standpoint, at the moment.
March 18, 201511 yr Ben Clymer had a great article on Rolex earlier this week. http://www.hodinkee.com/blog/inside-rolex
March 18, 201511 yr You don't get Rolex at all. $275 more for an in-house movement is by no means much... only about 3% over current inflation. http://www.hodinkee.com/blog/the-new-tudor-pelagos-now-with-in-house-movement
March 18, 201511 yr Very nice. Seems like a hell of a deal. I would hate to be a shop with some of the old Pelagos sitting on the shelf.
March 18, 201511 yr Did you guys see the video of the bracelet re-sizing as you dive deeper with the Pelagos? http://www.tudorwatch.com/#/en/pelagos/buckle-video/ And another shot of my new watch...
March 19, 201511 yr Now I just need bigger wrists. I totally know the feeling... I'm 6'1" with 6 1/4" wrists. Bitch wrists. =[ I took a talk to the Omega boutique store on 5th AVE earlier this week to see first hand the new-ish Seamaster 300 Master Co-Axial. Beautiful watch, I'm a fan of faux patina. I originally wanted to get a vintage but with the vintage costing more than the homage, I think I maybe going with the latter. It's a bit thick for me though. I'll give it some thought before making a decision.
March 19, 201511 yr This might interest you. I do with the new version of the Pelagos didn't have so much text on the dial. I saw that, but I already have a Speedmaster so wasn't looking for another chrono.
March 19, 201511 yr gotcha. Though I did really like the Silver Snoopy edition Speedy. http://www.omegawatches.com/baselworld-2015/en#!speedmaster-silver-snoopy-award
