  • I'm watching the news that three asshats have been found guilty of murdering an unarmed jogger in Georgia. Thank you to the jurors for being human.

Tomorrow starts fencing and we have a personal link to many coaches and fencers. Our friend and Lance's former coach is there with the Hong Kong team and another friend is the Italian team coach.  We

My sainted mother is visiting from Marthas Vineyard, so I've been showing her a few old films.  Last night we watched The Black Cat (1934), which stars Bela Lugosi and Boris Karloff.  Both men were at

Just finished Season 3 of OITNB.  I liked the previous 2 seasons better but it was still good.

Lost Girl -- s03e01 -- toward the end,

Bo: "It's time."

Lauren:  "It's time?"

Bo:  "...us."

Right here -- these couple of seconds, Lauren's face going through a complex range of emotions, then her head tilting and -- you can see that she knows she killed it, just leaking through a little bit -- "Really?" ... just perfectly delivered.

I love this stuff.  I rewound and rewatched it several times in a row.

Just binge watched Peaky Blinders, season 1 and 2.

Liked.

Finished Inside Amy Schumer season 3.

Things got really weird in s04e05 of Lost Girl.  I'm liking the fact that they're willing to push things, but the production values (editing, acting --

there's one scene where the actress who plays Lauren just so obviously looks like, "do I have to be here?"

)...

Finished Inside Amy Schumer season 3.

Dear God, have you never heard of safe sex? :P

First season of Suits.  I started watching when I tried to find Boston Legal on any of my streaming services, and failed (I saw it all in first run, but I wanted some Alan Shore, this evening).  I failed in that, so started watching this.  For some reason, I had thought this was a silly comedy.  It's pretty good, a few episodes in.

My 2¢ - it's a good show, not a great one.  I enjoyed it quite a bit for the first few years but Meghan Markle and Sarah Rafferty, despite their considerable charms, were not able to sustain my interest.

I'm with Nate on this.

Really enjoyed Suits for 2 seasons and lost interest.

For legal shows, if any of you guys didn't watch Damages when it was airing, I loved that (on Netflix).

Mr. Robot is looking like my fav summer show this year.

FIE World Fencing Championships.

Damn, Daryl only got the silver.  Well done my man,  ^-^   Silver for the worlds aint too shabby.  Yakimenko was on fire and would not be beat.

Since Lance's coaches are Russian, when not fencing an american we cheer for the Russian fencers.

Watch Lee Kiefer, Miles Chamley Watson and Garrick Meinhart in the coming days.  Lee and Garrick are both Notre Dame fencers    :jbl:

Lance worked out with Katie Holmes, women's epee,  at the Caltech camp last month.  The gal is a beast and could probably kick Naaman's ass.   ^-^   I would not fence her for all the Pappy Van Winkle 23 in North America.

FIE World Championships day two...duh!

Massialas wins!  He advances to the gold medal round. Go USA
