Either as the result of an injury that required frequent taping or as prep for surgery or if you're a cyclist it's damn near a requirement. I started shaving when I was 13, and had Glenn Danzig style sideburns when I was 14. The flip side of this is shaving is an absolute chore for me. I use two electrics and a razor to go from scruffy to clean shaven. When I was younger, I had some interesting arrangements. These days I keep have a minimalist "soul patch" (I loathe that name.)
