I forgot I was playing Todd this week - I shouldn't have bothered setting up my lineup.

  • Reading comprehension is not a strength of this group.     Draft date and order have not been set.  I do not have Colin to draw names this year.

  • Holy shit, I came back and beat Raf.

This might just be your year Nate.

  • 2 weeks later...

Looks like we may get back down to one league this year.  We have discussed keeper leagues and auction drafts over the years.  Anyone interested in changing things up?

One league sounds good. Can we modify the scoring a bit? IIRC, QB's in our league score a bit higher than they typically would. I'd also like to balance out WR and RB by bumping up RB's points in some manner. Or maybe we should drop the PPR down to .5 instead of 1?

Keeper might be fun - if we go that route, I'm assuming we start clean this year with a regular draft and will have keeper options for next year?

Yeah Keeper would have to start next year.

The PPR was argued by some here for several seasons as I had them at a lower threshold and everyone seemed to want a full point per reception.  RBs are standard, there just are no elite RBs anymore so they do not score points, unless they catch out of the backfield.  QBs probably need some adjustment.  I think some of the yearly bonuses that have been voted in by the leagues have made QBs a bit high in scoring.

I just want deepak to play so I can watch him cry when I beat him out for third place.

Keepers sound good to me. I like the PPR where it is, out of habit, but fine with whatever you guys want.

Right now I have an eight team league as follows:

VPI

TKAM

Biscuit Boy

Aura

Raffy

Nate

Shelly

Emelius

If we are doing a keeper league, I'm interested in playing this year, assuming there's another team to even out the numbers.  I'll probably help someone win the league with some boneheaded mistakes due to sleep deprivation.

As we get closer I am sure someone else will show up.  I think Frank and Tracy have not posted yet.

I'm tentatively in against my wife's advice.  Last year's season took a toll on my soul. We doing auction?

Auction makes it tough for those of us with precious little time to dedicate to draft research and potentially not being able to attend the draft at all.  I had no issues with the scoring format last year.  I had issues scoring, but hardly think it was the fault of the format...

Yep, I have zero desire to do anything auction.

As long as the draft time is during a weekend and NOT the weekend of 8/30, I'm in. (I am getting married that weekend.

When do we want to do our draft?

Not this week, probably too soon for most people. Next week and the week after - I'm free Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday nights. Definitely not Thursday. Friday is a "maybe".

Also - I think you're the final word on this, Jeff - are we drafting for keeper next year? It won't change my draft that much, just curious.

I think we have a consensus on the keeper league setup.  Any objections?

I sent out an invite to Salt Peanuts but I need Falkon's e-mail again so I can give him a team.
