November 5, 200817 yr MOTMOTMOTMOTMOTMOTMOTMOTMOTMOTMOTMOTMOTMOTMOTMOT Wait a minute! I'm bein framed here, I tell ya! It's actually ParMetals. MOT alert hereby cancelled.
November 5, 200817 yr Yes it appears to be a Par'sMetal chassis and it would be a pretty simple procedure for me this evening. I was just uncomfortable in opening up someone elses property and needed you guys to say it's OK.. FIFM
November 5, 200817 yr I received the Buffalo today but the post office mangled the box pretty badly. I will go out this week and pick up two boxes to double box this puppy for you guys next in line. There is one problem though, something is loose in the case and I can see and hear it rattling around inside. It appears to be a small nut but I won't know until I open the case. Since Naaman is offline do you guys think it would be OK to take a look to ensure nothing major is wrong? It would not be a good idea to fire this up knowing something is loose rattling around inside. I feel awkward because this is not my unit and there is no way to reach Naaman for permission first. Obviously if it is something major I will repack the Buffalo and ship it to Naaman in CO. He asked me to go ahead and open the case up to have a look when I couldn't get a lock with my digital cable, so I'm sure he'd want you to open it up and have a look.
November 6, 200817 yr :prettyprincess: An easy fix. Basically it was one of the nuts from the screw that holds the XLR cup to the chassis. I had the same issue with my Audio Aero cdp when it arrived, must be a world wide XLR nut conspiracy. Time for listening.
November 6, 200817 yr Author Glad to hear it was an easy fix. On think that shipping things half way across to the world is that I need to use Loc-Tight on everything.
November 19, 200817 yr Hey, Naamanf, any chance I could hear these once they're back on the front range? I know your list is set, but I've made offers on both of these pieces on HF's FS board, and I'd love to give them a listen before I commit money.
November 19, 200817 yr Author Shouldn't be a problem. I will let you know when it makes it back and you are more than welcome to give them a try.
November 20, 200817 yr The 1.2Bs are nice looking and SO MUCH better than the bamboo abortions they replaced, but I have to say the Jades are better built, better looking and more plush. I hope Naaman gets to try them out sometime.
November 20, 200817 yr The 1.3 was an epic fugly beast. So Mr. Doctor man... how do they compare? I have the whole afternoon off, so I'll post some initial impressions in the evening. I'm listening to The Arcade Fire now (and finished some Dolphy), and I'm enjoying the sound.

We need to have a meet, because I'd like to try them too, and who wouldn't want to hear these on the BHSE?

November 20, 200817 yr I'm tempted to say we should have it at Larry's, since we could also use the time to listen to every other headphone ever made.
November 20, 200817 yr P.S. No pads on the RS-1 and 414 pads on the PS-1? You, sir, are unconventional.
