I sure hope it provides more than 22db of attenuation and a greater range than that. Otherwise I don't quite get offering balanced inputs and only SE outputs. Otherwise I could do with, uh, 5 fewer front panel switches.

The beta22 is fully discrete and has a much higher power output, much better PSU, etc. Although for a pro unit this doesn't look like a bad little amp, architecturally it isn't in the same ballpark with a beta22. Good specs are pretty easy to achieve with opamps running with negative feedback. I agree with the balanced in/SE out comment as well. I can't tell, but is this really fully balanced or does it just convert bal->SE?

The question I have is are all those TO-220 devices regulators? Sure looks like it. That means this is basically a chip amp...

I'm with Marc, this is a basic chip amp from the looks of it so the competition is something like the RSA HR-2 or Rudistor, not B22. Interesting volume control though, possibly some vintage USSR stuff?

The TO-220 on the left is a regulator, you can see from the side shot. From the top shot you can see they are all National devices, hence my deduction. The soic devices are probably relay drivers, that would be my guess at least. It could be a double sided PCB I suppose.

It's 1400 euro ... that's why I wanted a comparison with the beta22.

€1400 would buy you a set of Quad electrostatics in fine repair, nevermind that little box of bolts.

chip amp for sure. Notice that the power input is AC. Therefore the

things on the heatsinks have to be regulator chips, 2 for each channel.

5th one is likely a 5 volt regulator to control the switching.

Most of us have been on HF for a long time so there is good reason for our attitude. To us you are just like all those noobs on HF which look at the price of a component and think that has any bearing on its performance.
