October 22, 20169 yr I keep coming back to this recording, nice reference recording in many ways and an odd performance in other ways. Before that, just the comment that if you like the music style, L'oiseau-Lyre has just some fantastically quiet vinyl, with tons of dynamics
October 22, 20169 yr Marc, I'm going to buy you a KISS album, and act offended if I don't see it in your collection.
October 24, 20169 yr I can't even! The music is in my body! Caressing my DNA. How did i ever survive with a lowly, pleibian DL160? This is what being noble must sound like.
October 24, 20169 yr I'd be happy to take that DL160 off your hands, seeing as you no longer like it, and all.

Shipping stuff out of Norway is insanely expensive, so it's not really worth the hassle. (it would cost £30 just to ship the PU!) The DL-110 sounds almost identical though, so i would just get one of those. Also, being a lowly pleb is no good! At least aim for joining a retinue (ala. DV 5x10) if you are not ready to join the ranks of nobility. (low output mc) Edited October 24, 20169 yr by bjarnetv
October 24, 20169 yr Curse you Bjarne. Why couldn't you just leave me blissfully ignorant? *sticks fingers in ears* LALALALALAALAALALA TALK TO THE SZELL HAND
October 24, 20169 yr to be honest, i didn't really expect the difference to be this big. it's like going from 2d to 3d. if you ever see a good deal on the AT33ptg/II, buy one, and track down a reasonable stepup with 100ohm input impedance. the change from a NAD PP2 to Reflex M was in no way as big a change as going from the Denon to the AT.

November 18, 20169 yr This album proved that I can definitely create a feedback loop with my speaker that close - even when wall mounting the turntable
November 18, 20169 yr I told you.I don't have any other decent spots to put it. My goal is to literally break every acoustic rule of thumb as possible in one room. Yeah, that's the ticket.
November 18, 20169 yr So sound conducts -- pop quiz -- how? Through air, through solid, or elsehow? Trick question, the answer is yes. So you need to acoustically decouple the turntable from the stand (mag lev would do), but then I would also build an acoustic "faraday cage" of sound baffles around it. Like a teeny, tiny vocal booth. Except for turntables instead of vocalists.
November 18, 20169 yr I'm glad to see others are starting to take their intellectual property more seriously.
November 19, 20169 yr Yeah I need to make this official and the take all the sorb idiots to court here in Iceland.

If you promise to make the case a long, drawn-out process (say, 4 years or so?), I'd be happy to be the precedent-setting international incident. SORBOTHANE! SORBOTHANE! SORBOTHANE!
