Lacking brisket, I grilled a tri-tip instead. It’s more CA anyway.

Fried Chicken and Biscuits...

It was my first time for both. Nothing perfect yet.  The Biscuits came out a bit better than the chicken.  

The trick with fried chicken is to get the oil really hot, like fondue hot.  Causes the chicken to sear and crust and keeps the moisture in.

2nd Breakfast?

Found the most beautiful basil leaves on supermarket yesterday, and they have a pretty decent dough there. Since I already had some pepperoni home...

Me puts leaves and Parmesan slices after 3-4 minutes off the oven.
