Sorry you weren’t feeling well, Steve.  I’ve had COVID twice and it really kicked my ass the first time.  Glad you are doing better.

Had the day off yesterday (company has "wellbeing days" the last couple of years - thanks Covid!), so went to Stanford's Cantor and Anderson museums. Chuckled at this Tony Oursler animated sculpture-projection which seemingly judged you as you judged other works.

Cut some big pieces of wood into smaller pieces of wood, which will then be made into bigger pieces of wood in the end.

Been a while. Felt good

As others have reported, a bit of a heat wave here yesterday. What better time to stand in the sun and eat funnel cakes at a county fair (elephant ears were sadly out of stock - damn you West Coast)? In a sign of the times, about half the animals on display as normal due to the bird flu. As a stabilizing influence, every band still knowns Tom Petty.

Visiting around Paris.

Paris, Tennessee that is. It's a great place to see nature. But today's

weather is a bust. Great retirement location.

Does the new sculpture look better in person?

This past weekend I went up to my Maine condo.  Met up with an Audio friend for lunch in Portland, then worked my way South back to the condo.

I ended up talking non-highway routes (Rt 1), and made stops coincidentally at several places Karen and I visited last Fall when we did a similar trip.  Was both sad and wonderful, good memories but emptier without her.

For anyone travelling to Southern Maine, some fun foodie places:

Maine is a beautiful state, lots of great small towns near and off the water.  When we would go up, we'd literally feel the stress wash off and our shoulders relax as we crossed the bridge from NH into Maine.

Gratuitous pic of Lenny the Moose.....

That statue is, as the kids say, caked up.

It's based on a real woman -- Deja Solis.  The artist, Marco Cochrane -- a Burning Man devotee, go figure -- has done it before.  It's an artistic interpretation of the answer to the question, "What would the world be like if women were safe?"

Quite frankly, we need this in the world right now.  Right after those disgusting words were posted a while back, shortly after Trump took office, "Your Body, My Choice," by wannabe rapists, we need this in the world.

Sometimes, I hate my entire half of the human race.

My Sister in Law sent me a few pics.

This one was from February 1981...

My Mom looks so young!

The only one's left are myself (blondy), and my oldest Brother, to the left of me.

I miss that blonde guy. He could walk into gay bar and turn some heads.

Oh neat! My birth mother was 15 when that pic was taken.

Yes Brent, we all know that I'm much older than you. Congratulations. You win.

Actually yesterday. Had a flat tire on my way back home from cooking a stir fry with Al's Sister Rini, while the dogs played.

I knew that the front tires were getting worn, but had no idea how bad they actually were. After jacking up the van and pulling the wheel off, the entire inside edge of the tire has steel belts poking through the rubber.

Took the time to examine the other front tire, and I see shiny steel. So tomorrow morning I'm taking a few hours off work to get a new tire. I'm just hoping that I can make it to the tire store in San Rafael. Very nervous, as I now have no spare.

Edited by swt61

Sounds like you might need multiple tires!

Glad you are safe! Have the mechanic look them over and make sure the pressures are right.

I'm also having new tires put on this week. Treat your tires with care and they will take care of you.

Edited by TMoney

Getting a used tire as I type this. Ordered two more Michelin tires for the front. Rear Michelins are still in good condition. Will get those mounted Saturday.
