Happy Birthday Dusty Chalk!

Ok so last night I was whistling along with a tune and I noticed a strange sound...like a clashing harmony. I figured I was off or something, whistled the wrong the note. Then I whistled the song again just by myself and I heard the same weird clash. So after some more whistling and so forth I determined that I was actually hearing a fixed pitch on top of what I was whistling. In short if I whistle one pitch, I hear two, the pitch I'm whistling and another fixed pitch. I can change the pitch I'm whistling and the fixed pitch remains, well fixed even when I move the whistled pitch quickly. It's pretty strong too (the fixed pitch, I can hear it very clearly.) As some of you know, I have been training for the past couple months to participate in 165-mile cycling event from Miami to Key West on November 16 & 17th. The Smart Ride (this is the 9th annual event) raises money for direct service HIV/AIDs organizations in Florida, and what I like about this charity ride is that the cost of the event is covered by the riders' fees and donations from separate fund raising events, and 100% of the money raised by the riders goes directly to the organizations. Its now winter break for me and I have keys to the ceramics studio and am trying to think of some stuff to do. I was reading that RSA amp thread and noticed that ray was using a ceramic headphone stand and thought some people here might like for me to make them one. I wouldn't charge anything but shipping as they would be pretty cheap to make. This would be for established head-casers in the US only. Sorry to leave you canadians and europeans out in the cold but ceramics are heavy and shipping would be probably more than it's worth.

Or the myths which people like to parrot to the point where they've become accepted "fact". 1) Grados don't really need an amp and don't benefit all that much from one. While it's true that Grados will sound pretty decent straight out of a PCDP or iPod, they improve a hell of a lot when driven off a good amp. A 225 is pretty listenable out of my Walkman, but gets a fair bit better out of my Gilmore Lite, and it's better still on Biggie's pimped out tube amp. So, bored at work, I stumbled across head-case from another link. I payed for upgrades to my amp in mid-december, but I still don't have it. I called last week and supposedly it's done, but I still haven't recieved shipping info as promised. What the hell do I have to do to get my amp?
