As of a couple of weeks ago I'm now officially in business with a license and everything I've been looking into ways of diversifying, and with that in mind I've been delving into other areas and letting a bit of my artistic (autistic?) side out. I bought a nice little engraver to go along with all my Proxxon mini tools. I'm also thinking of getting into knives and such. I don't know if that makes any sense but it's me thinking aloud. I'm not really a knife type but doing wood grips is fun. I don't actually know anyone into knives so I don't know what most look for in one. Any of you guys into knives? Do any of you have any recommendations for small business software. I've been looking at Quicken, Quickbooks, Turbotax etc. I've never used any of them and don't know exactly what I need. They need to be reasonably easy to use and learn as ell as not being excessively expensive. Life is a big hectic mess right now and I need something to simplify at least some of it.

Shades of Rodney Dangerfield. I have an opportunity to get Java programming certification starting this fall. I haven't been in a classroom for I dunno how many years. Of course, I'm less worried about the time away from yardwork and housework, and more concerned about being away from inhaling solder. I'm just finishing the never ending parts list for my Bijou. Gah! Oh well, I guess pc boards don't spoil in the back of the fridge. Actually might be fun, though. I'm in QA, so now the devs here will be less likely to try to sneak shit past me.

I was browsing the web and found something I thought is pretty cool, but couldn't find an existing thread to post it in. So here goes... http://www.urbanhardwoods.com/ All their stuff is done using reclaimed wood. I saw the "Day with Tim Lincecum" piece on CSN where he shows off his apartment in Seattle, and he mentions where he got what I think is a pretty badass table. Just thought I'd share. Maybe this thread could be used to post random cool stuff--audio, tech, or otherwise that we find.
