It is with great pleasure I bring you one of my most ambitious projects, Photography in Medicine. The idea was born of some random discussions my advisor and I had over the summer and after incessantly annoying, emailing and calling a lot of people, it has finally come to fruition. Chris Evert Children’s Hospital has graciously allowed full access to their general pediatric, pediatric oncology and pediatric ICU wards where we will give the admitted children cameras and go around with them taking pictures of whatever they find interesting. So Karen is running the Chicago Marathon for St. Judes on October 12, 2014. This is the sixth straight year she has run it and she is now older than I was when we met. As parents of a child who had some issues at a young age (but thankfully not anything that required a visit to St. Judes) this is a charity that is very close to our hearts. Had a friend of mine who sent me an invite so I went ahead and joined awhile back. I didn't really have the time to mess with it very much so I've left it alone for a couple of weeks. In the process I've added 2 friends and that's it. My "name" is not my real name. Today I went back and looked in the section where you can add friends. There are a ton of people I know and have worked with in the industry that have popped up! How in the hell is that possible when I don't go by my real name?

The title says it all. Thank you for your many sacrifices and for your service to your country.

I liked Paul Newman as an actor, but most for his generosity when giving from his food business. It was estimated that his food business generated close to 90 million or possibly more for various charities and causes. He will be dearly missed.

I was cleaning out my ears and my sink in my second bathroom doesn't drain well and started to fill up. I foolishly had my Zen on the towel rack right above the sink and of course in fell right in. I was only submerged for a second or two but that was enought for it to start flashing primary colours and then settle on the color pink for a while and then switch to blue and then black. I immediately opened it up and dried out all the water I could see. I put it on one of the air induction vents for the central heating in hopes that it will dry out all the way and work in a few hours. We'll see! For the non-parents among you, this will probably seem fairly meaningless, but... When I got home from the Cincy meet on Saturday, my son had made his first poopy in the potty without direction! He turns two in about a month! Doggone smart kid, and freedom from diapers is on the horizon!!!!!

I'm taking Zoe and her friend to the Panic! At The Disco/Weezer concert (while I am attending the Weezer/PATD concert). I want to get some earplugs for everyone. I can handle the Ety ones, but not sure if they could. Are there any good "musician" or "concert" ear plugs you guys recommend? Are the ER-20s still worth getting, or would I want something better? (Zoe and her friend won't use them much, but I could use them at band rehearsal/other concerts, so I could go with something a little more long term.) Oh, and referably something I can get locally or through Amazon, so I can have them here before Thursday's show. Thanks. **BRENT**
