Hi Guys, Hope you don’t mind me asking this question, but just maybe you will be glad you did someday. I want to create a balancing or tuning process that helps produce an audio component that is of the very best quality. I’m thinking of cables or maybe speakers or something, any ideas? My background is in the production of bespoke machines and systems for high-tech products (automation, test & inspection). I have been working on testing RF amps for a few years, but this was for satellites and I would love to get into high-end consumer audio products. I’m not an audio expert but I can work to specs and automate iterative processes to optimise product performa…

Well it seems our Christmas eve dinner is growing by the minute. I need to buy cigars for three Christmas eve guests and a Christmas gift for a dinner guest. All smokers are experienced smokers not the brand conscious once a quarter types like me. My budget is $80, with about $50 allocated for the gift the rest for Christmas eve. Any and all suggestions appreciated.

Right here, in Grand Cayman, and less than 2 miles from my house... Ok, so I know it seems silly, but I've been living here for 13+ years and until now, there hasn't been a 24-hour anything. It took years before we finally had wholesale grocery stores, and the ones we have now are not exactly discount houses. Its now winter break for me and I have keys to the ceramics studio and am trying to think of some stuff to do. I was reading that RSA amp thread and noticed that ray was using a ceramic headphone stand and thought some people here might like for me to make them one. I wouldn't charge anything but shipping as they would be pretty cheap to make. This would be for established head-casers in the US only. Sorry to leave you canadians and europeans out in the cold but ceramics are heavy and shipping would be probably more than it's worth.

I've been thinking about installing some USB power outlets in my house. With devices that USB wall chargers I've had mixed results. Some of my phones will only charge with a wall-wart that came with it for some reason. I'm a little worried that I'll have the same problem with USB outlets. Do any of you early adapter geeks have any experience with these. Does anyone use or have experience with memory foam pillows? Memory foam is like the coolest thing with bedding, or at least when I see them at the department stores, but I wonder how memory foam in pillow form works out...
