So are you just as good at keeping your birthday a secret as I am or did I miss something? You and the wifey going out on the town to celebrate or are you staying home enjoying the new pad? Well, whatever you do I hope you have a good one.

Can't wait to hear what John Stewart and Colbert have to say about this tonight! It's almost like something the Onion would write but once again, truth is stranger than fiction.

Does anyone with some codding skill want to try and write something to remove that annoying sidebar they put on the left hand side, using greasemonkey? http://www.greasespot.net/ I saw this but don't know where to put the code I want to get rid of http://diveintogreasemonkey.org/patterns/remove-element.html

Republican Voters Stay Home Anti-Incumbency Wins? By J.B. Williams If I could get a dollar for every time we are going to hear the word ?mandate? in the next 72 hours, I could get out of Dodge and retire to a Caribbean island in style, where I wouldn?t have to endure this? Speaker Elect Pelosi and Senate Leader Elect Reid are two of the most anti-American socialist members of Congress - now in control of Congress. They can thank Republican voters for their new-found power, but they won?t. They will jam it up their bumm instead? Five of nine registered voters are registered Republican, making it a numerical impossibility for socialist Democrats to win power in…

I've heard rumors of various public figures having accounts on head-fi. They never get outed over there because we all know how much celebrities hate publicity (yea right). So any of you forum addicts got any usernames to go with some big names? We're all friends here and I'm just curious.

I'm not sure if Catcher has been made into a movie - yet. certainly, as an immensely popular work for near 6 decades there are those that would be chomping at the bit to do so. and since i can't find a more appropriate forum here goes: J.D. Salinger Dies at 91: The Hermit Crab of American Letters - TIME J. D. Salinger News - The New York Times J. D. Salinger - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Another member said something that reminds me of some of my musings concerning how we perceive various types of stimuli. Each format has its own sonic signature. Those people who grew up listening to vinyl have trained themselves to listen through the surface noise and accept the sonic signature, or limitations of records. Many of these individuals find listening to digital extremely unpleasant, even unacceptable. Whereas many who listen solely to digital and have never listened to vinyl find listening to records extremely unpleasant, even unacceptable. Everyone has their own set of filters with which they process information. Many of us who originally listened sol…

I sort of just finished it. Got tired of my old one and got really tired of all the scrolling so started working on a new one. What do you think? Is it better than the previous one? I'm still going to work on it to personalize it a little more as it's a little stiff for me but it's nice to hear some opinions on the usage / interface and the like. Maybe even ideas on things that might be missing.... Thanx in advance www.contrastique.com

I used to love visual brain teaser like puzzles when I was a teen and want to pick up a few however I can't seem to find a good resource that separates the wheat from the chaff. Are any of you into puzzles? Can you recommend some of your favorites?

Sorry for the lengthy post to follow, but I took the 2008 Outlook in today for a noisy power steering pump, and ended up test driving a 2008 Infiniti G35x all wheel drive that I really liked. I'd really appreciate some advice from you level-headed people about maybe buying it, or not. I didn't want to clog up the "last thing you bought" thread with this, but that was where we talked a little about a "next car" recently and got me started. The G has 31,450 miles and has most options except navigation, and very nice new Michelin all season tires that look like they'd be good on the occasional snow we get here. And I got them down from $28,988 to $27,500 + $2,000 cash-…

I need a little Head Case advice and attitude. I received a pm yesterday from the other site regarding the EC/SS I put up for sale a month ago. The buyer is new and has three posts and no feedback to his credit. The prospective buyer has offered to pick up postage and PayPal costs and wants me to ship the EC/SS to Israel. I live in Southern California and the thought of shipping something outside of North America has me a little concerned about the amp ever arriving even if insured or the buyer claiming the amp never arrived. I see substantial risk of the buyer claiming he never received the package and requesting a refund. Over the years and after reading so many hor…
