Grok Headphones in Fullness

What are your L3000 burn-in experiences? I have a pair that's being extremely stubborn, though truthfully part of it is my laziness. It's my second pair; bought it a while ago (3 years?). It's been mostly in storage, but I figure it must have at least 250 hours from my previous half-hearted burn-in attempts. It STILL has that new-L3000 sound (mostly). I know that sound because it's exactly what Purk's pair sounded like when new. It's got the L3000 signature for sure, but the effortlessness and holographic imaging aren't there yet, like on my older pair (bought used from Japan) and Purk's pair. Sounds a bit too "rigid" like the full musical flow isn't quite there yet. It'…

I finally sold my Proline 750 and I'm currently looking at MS-2i. My question is, how well does MS-2i scale? because I'll be upgrading my source(840c) in few months, and I'll be getting a balanced amp(probably a CK2III) few months later after my source upgrade. Does it worth balancing?? I'm also considering are K501/K601, are there anything I should be looking at as well? Thanks for your comments~

This time we are looking at some IEM or just entry level Shure. They are designed to work with music players on-the-go with high noise isolation. Bundle Nothing really special here, 4 sets of silicon tips of different sizes, a carrying case, a extender cable (you will need it useless you hang your iPod on your face.) Build Real solid product, looks and feels like it can withstand many years of abuse from me. Cables are tough and a bit on the hard side, the cable leading from the headphone isn't that high quality, its just like standard cable to me, massive room for improvement. Worth noting that the extension cable have build quality leagues above the wh…

  4. Regarding the K701, well, I happen to own them. What might be regarded as interesting is that I use them to listen to EDM FM recordings (weekly). The resolution, plasticity, definition, tightness, nuances and the overall quality of the bass (if the bass is there in the recording, and it is very recording dependent - and recording are made by humans) the way it hits is, on the headphone amp I am using, with somewhat good source - breathtaking. Senn HD600 have different qualities, and are more of a blunt tool so to speak, in comparison, although very often put in the same box together with the AKG K701. Often neglected in reviews and opinions is how are these…

  6. https://geardiary.com/2017/07/25/even-h2-wireless-headphones/ My Christmas present this year! So, I haven’t been able to enjoy high end audio gear for almost three years now due to an inner ear infection which left me with high frequency hearing loss above 8khz, tinnitus, and intolerance to spl above 80db ... all only in my left ear. If you’re interested, it’s called secondary endolymph hydrops. Basically I have too much pressure of the fluid in my left inner ear. It sucks. Nothing sounds good any more. Detail in my left ear... gone. Soundstage ... gone. Anything above a minimal volume hurts in my left ear. Minimal volume which is tolerable…

  7. So I am extremely fond of the HD25-1. They isolate as well as many IEM's, they sound OK, they're lightweight and can be ;iterally thrown in a bag with impunity. However for someone who has had more headphones and you can count on every appendage, I am getting 'samey-headphone-syndrome'. I want a change. The K181DJ is looking like the only competitor around at the moment that I haven't heard or had. I have just cancelled my order for a K181DJ as the supplier is being an arse. They told me it would arrive this week,, and this is after many, many weeks of waiting. A web seller have them in stock apparently and can dispatch next day. I am about to buy them, but if I buy…

Yup, I feel like getting a second setup to complement my K1000 setup, and I'm trying to decide between an Omega II setup or a balanced HD650 setup. My Omega II will be amped by a KGSS, and the HD650s will be amped by a GS-X, when the new MOSFET modules are released. Basically, the intended goal of this secondary setup is to complement the K1000 setup, so I don't really want it to have a similar sound signature. So, what do you guys think?

Hello everyone! I am a product designer from the uk and I'm designing a pair of headphones for my final project (at Uni). I'm aiming them at the female youth-late twenties market but I want them to sound good too. So far I've been trying to research design on headphones but am not finding an awful lot. Does anyone know about the insides much? lol is it a case of just the speaker being inside the headphone cup? I'm looking at 40mm Neodymium speakers but I can't find any other higher end alternatives. They seem decent but at only $USD0.20 I'd like to put something better in. The other aspect I'm looking at is sales. Could anyone point me in the right direction here? For…

Does anybody have any experience with any particular ear protector ear muff thingie for babies? A friend of mine is expecting twin girls. He's the house photographer for an NHL team. Thus, there is a trip to a hockey game in the kids' futures. I assume this would be for your basic making a fuss over the cute babies thing, since I can't really see why infant girls would want to see a hockey game, even with a good team, which the Panthers haven't been lately.

I just go these today, and overall I'm very impressed: they sound really good for their price. They don't have the technical abilities of other high-end phones, but they do no nothing wrong, have a very involving midrange, and an intimate soundstage. I do wish that their earpads are bigger/deeper, as their shallowness make them not really circumaural to my ears. But what surprised me the most was how hard they are to drive. I had to turn my Lavry up past where I usually listen at for the HD650s. I can't wait to hear them out of my soon-coming Dynahi.

Any one here have to deal with a RMA from Ulitmate Ears? I sent in a pair of Triple-Fi's over three months ago and they keep giving me the run around saying they shipped replacements. So far there are supposedly two sets of replacements in the mail which should have been here by now. I typically like to give companies the benfit of the doubt but I am starting to get pretty pissed. I guess it's more important for them to go give away headphones to celbrities than take care of actual paying customers.

On my commute, I have been using Apple Earbuds, which seem to leak a bit of sound. I am normally riding on a train car designated as "Quiet Car" and have had a couple of people look at me if I'm really cranking something, so I was looking for something that didn't leak as much. I know, JH13 I ran across the HifiMan HE400s on innerfidelity, which Tyll seemed to like, and can get these for around $50. I also noticed they have an HE400i (iPhone) or HE400a (Android). From what I can tell, these do not have a microphone, but do have the inline volume control thingy? The reviews seem to indicate that the inline controls are cheap and break. I never really use these, but i…

I've heard both but not at the same time and the times were too far apart, hence my own experience fails. Anyone else heard these and compared them? Normally I'd just go ahead and buy an SA5000 to find out but funds are running pretty low for me right now, was wondering how much percentage of the Qualia the SA5000 offers. I love the Qualia but it's an awful lot of money to keep to one headphone.

Hey, I've recently stumbled upon someone selling Beats By Dre Pro for about 200 bucks. Seems like a bargain doesn't it? I know Beats aren't the best headphones, but I'd be happy to buy them for 200 bucks. He claims they are original and still in good condition. Says he has a receipt too. But you just can't be sure enough with all these fakes nowadays. In my opinion they seem pretty legit, but I'm just a newb. Can someone give me their opinion, do you think these Beats By Dre Pro are genuine? If you need more pictures to verify, please tell me. I'll ask him for some more. 20. Generally speaking, I'm mostly listening to Lo-Fi Music, Hip-Hop, and Punk-Rock. Here are 2 sample songs for each aforementioned genre: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLiljpJc5pzlkTTyVsLGEoS5hS4tkyaMsh Intended use I listen to music at any time & any place, meaning that I really prefer headphones that are noise-protecting. Speaking from my personal experience, I'm a big fan of IN-EAR and OVER-EAR headphones. They feel naturally comfortable to me and that's generally a big brownie point. Please don't hesitate if you have any further questions or ideas! THEREFORE Super many Thanks in Advance! I genuinely appreciate the privilege of being able to…

  21. Hi everyone, I don't know if there is anyone around here who likes SA5k over the HD650, but if there is, I was wondering if I could get some tips. So basically, I currently own the HD650 and the SA5k. My mom uses the HD650 back at home, and my parents want me to give my SA5k to my cousin as a gift (strange, I know. Don't ask. ). So that leaves me with no headphone at college pretty soon. I've never heard the K701, but I've begun considering it. I personally don't like the HD650's dark signature and the "veil" (ya, I notice it) doesn't work too well with my most of my music. (It works great with classical, but not so great with industrial, rock such as Tool, pop and el…

This video gives people a good look at the factory and their manufacturing process: http://arstechnica.com/gadgets/2014/07/some-of-the-worlds-most-reknowned-headphones-built-in-a-brooklyn-townhouse/ SFW: hot glue action It should be interesting to see if their e series headphones are a measurable improvement on their predecessors. It seems like yesterday that they announced the i series.

  25. Hello! I'm looking for a pair of headphones for my work. I'll be wearing them for about 4 hours every day to cut out noise and distraction at my station. I'm really looking for the sweet spot between Comfort, overall quality and price! (I have a budget of $100) I've done a lot of searching, and so far the Sennheiser HD 439 seems like a contender. Are there better models for the same price? any more options that I'm missing? Any help is appreciated!!! Thanks!
