I recently recieved this message from somebody: "... Do not use Head-Fi's resources--it's forums, it's PM system, it's e-mail contact function--to promote, recruit for, and/or redirect traffic to another forum (or any other purpose reasonably construed as intended to do any of the above)." It looks like Head-fi is taking exception to any sort of attempt by members here to communicate with members via pm or e-mail at Head-fi. As fate has it, certain people are really paranoid about a recent trend in contacting people through any means provided by head-fi if they are also members here at Head-Case. I am offended by the music forum being placed under the "entertainment" category, being lumped in with transient garbage like TV and video games. It'd make more sense to name the category "Arts & Entertainment" or something.

I just read about this, and I found it too short. Believe it or not, sometimes I actually think about the post when editing, and find that while I'm sitting in the edit window, rephrasing and reworking something (shocking isn't it...), the time runs out and by the time I hit the save button I can't change it any more. How about 10 mins?

It returns me to the forum root instead of the thread I was posting in. Perhaps this could be an option at least, where I post, and it keeps me in that thread? -Ed

Per popular request there's now an 'angry' reaction.

So it'd be nice if the links automatically took out the referencing URL (see, for example, one of my most recent posts before this one), so that the targeted website didn't know from whence it came. I figure one way that would work is if it first went to a common url that would then take it to the target website, like a form post, rather than embedded in the URL.

I'd like to have the higly missing head-fi "outside" offtopic forums ..

I recommend that people should be able to change their own avatar. I can't seem to be able to do that. I don't want to be stuck with this stupid llama forever.

Can we have them be a little bit bigger? The difference in niceness between 100 and 80 pixels is quite a lot with minimal additional imposition in screen estate and besides theres all those cheaters (not mentioning grawk) who are haxing in bigger ones anyway!

I have gotten several of these in the last 24 hours. Has anybody else been getting them? Todd, do you have something to tell me?

It looks like a recent change is to have sliders for large items such as pictures. Not only is it unnecessary, it usually is in the way. If there is a group of pictures, one has to scroll down (using the browser vertical slider) to the horizontal slider, reposition the page using the horizontal slider and then scroll back up to the picture. All browsers support horizontal scrolling and do it better and easier than display software. Can we remove the sliders in VB and let the browsers handle it?

I noticed that somebody posted Lil Knight's email address in the Group Buy for KGS Boards and thought that it should be removed. However, there was no way to flag the post. It is here:

I'm getting an error message "[#CHAT-03] You do not have access to our chat room" when i try to use the chat. I assumed i got banned for something, but i was told that none of the admins remembered banning me (well, this is the first time i've been banned, ever, if i was). So.. can i have chat access back, if i wasn't banned? If i was banned, its fine, i probably did something i shouldn't have - its the uncertainty that bothers me.

I've had this problem since yesterday morning. Trying to check PMs brings up a blank page. On Firefox and IE. A few minutes ago the top part loaded but there was an error line at the top. Unfortunately I wasn't able to copy it. Now it goes back to the blank page.

Is there a (relatively easy) way to create a collective gear list? I know we have the individual profiles and sigs, but it would be boss if we had some sort of searchable index/db/whatever so we could more easily find people with certain pieces of gear. Thoughts?

Would it be possible to integrate computer section for audio/DIYers/Games players. It doesn;t need to be split in to subforums, just a general would suffice for the time being.

First, is there a way to get the negation character from British keyboards to display on the forums. Also, because of the way that images larger than the width of the thread display get the right hand sides cut off and one has to either post a small picture or scroll, could there be an [imgw][/imgw] option made available, which would automatically resize larger pictures to the thread width, and then if you click on them, you get a new tab/window with the full size picture in it?

I'm thinking -- since we have so many people that know so much about food and whatnot -- that we should have a whole culinary sub-forum. And not sure, but maybe we should move drink in there, too. Anyone second the first? Thoughts on the second if so?

Ok so we can now add custom fields in user profiles. I'm thinking we'll do a few standard ones for people to put their gear in but I'm open to suggestion on some other fields we could add. I added one already "Headphones & Speakers" you can see @ profile -> forum profile information

Is it possible to add the option for a daily digest notification of subscribed threads, instead of an individual email for each and every subscribed thread? I recently changed my settings from "Immediate" notification to "Daily" notification, and now I get sent 15-20 emails at 10:02PM each night, instead of spread out throughout the day. I did this to reduce the number of emails I get, not just to change the time that they arrive. I looked through the settings and didn't see a daily digest option. Thanks!

Perhaps this will be an interesting idea.. is it possible to create a up/down rating system to downrate trolls and uprate people who contribute useful information? It could be as simple as another number called "karma" in addition to postcount that's displayed.. users could perhaps choose to give or take this away. I know digg / slashdot uses this, and some forums also have this.. though I cant think of a high traffic site that does this, this forum has a similar system.. http://www.chiefdelphi.com/forums/index.php?
