  1. Signed the contract to sell my house, wrote 4 letters of recommendation, attended 1 seminar, attended 1 job talk, went to 1 dinner with the job candidate, and dealt with the maintenance staff to try and keep my toilet from splashing... I need a drink.

  2. I discredited a man who was trying to sell a bridge and convinced my municipal government to buy a different person's bridge instead. It was pretty exciting actually.

  3. Congrat Shelly, lot of accomplishments! And Iain....someone actually had a "would you buy a bridge from this man?" moment? Cool!

  5. A belated post... We picked Winnie up Saturday. She's settling in well... She's going to be a great addition to the family. The North Face coat my mom made for Neko just needs a minor adjustment as she's a little smaller than Neko was.

  7. Really? I found the Yggy quite disappointing; especially considering how Mr. Plankton was saying it had oodles of plankton. I found it lacking with the said plankton. It was a very fine DAC for the $, but hardly the "beast slayer". There are better ones out there in my opinion.

  8. Congrats Purk. The Yggy spotlighted the NADM51’s shortcomings very clearly in my system, like yourself even new out of the box. The upgrade has been a very worthy investment for me, it’s actually the first DAC I’ve experienced an undeniable big improvement. Whist the NADM51 had a subtle improvement over the (TPA) Sabre based DAC’s I was building at the time, I feel the Yggy to be in another league altogether.

  14. Thank you all for the birthday wishes. It warms this old ticker to count you all as friends. Haven't checked in much lately, but that doesn't mean you lot aren't being remembered or cared about. On the road at present. Spent Thanksgiving week in PA (Poconos) with two daughters and grandkids, and presently in Ridgewood, NJ with one of them. Home to Sarasota tomorrow. Did the fall migration of friend's sailboat from Annapolis to Miami, and that was a blast. Thanks again for the well wises, especially the clever pics, gifs, and jibes. Love you all.

  17. That would mean fewer knives, audio gear and guns. Probably not a bad trade for more whiskey.

  19. This is pretty much the coolest thing ever: A working familiarity with DMX and TF2 will help, but is not required.

  20. Baked a few pizza and rolls with the leftover dough on the back of the 17" cast iron skillet. Worked really well, make some very good crust. I just have to work on the dough recipe since since mine over-inflated to an astounding degree. More bread than pizza ultimately.

  27. Thanks TMoney. The Yggy cost me £1850, and for that price I have to say I'm finding it very hard to believe just how good the Yggy sounds, a bargain, IMO.
