Yes, watched it. I liked it, but it had its problems. Unfortunately, HBO didn't pick it up for a 2nd season.2 points

looking at the picture blown up. 450V, 330uf and if you look, 10 transistors, all in series, banks of 5. and lots of resistors to balance them all. (sot223-4 transistors) sure looks to be a bipolar version of the koss esp950. so its a voltage stacker. transistors are likely matched pnp and npn, and are rated for 250 to 300v (5 transistors with 900v total power supply) there are no power output transistors attached to the heatsinks input transformers are used as the phase splitters IF (more like when) it blows up, its impossible to repair.1 point

So, pots are in (this is just one of several boxes. Lots of pot...). So far, I've tested all 4CP-601's. I've tested them for channel imbalance when used as voltage dividers in balanced configuration, i.e. the difference in voltage output between the combined output from the first two channels, and the combined output from last two channels. Maximum tracking error in this config for all pots is around 2-3%. However, that 2-3 percent only shows up at the high output levels ( think last quarter of pot range towards full volume). Below that, tracking error is 1 % or less. With the usual reservations for unknown errors in test setup and/or my math, my conclusion is that we got a fine lot of pots this time around. Should you find otherwise when you get your pots, we'll work it out with TKD. I'll ship the US destined pots to mwl168 tomorrow for further distribution with boards in the US, and when the pot boards from mwl168 get here, I'll commence the non-US distribution.1 point

Just finished watching the latest episode E8, picking up my jaw off the floor slowly... Now I'm almost afraid to see where this whole thing is going.1 point

I watched episode 3, "The Stray", in which there is a long conversation between Ford and Bernard. I noticed every time Ford mentioned the hosts, Bernard kind of clammed up, and I started thinking maybe Bernard wasn't hearing that part of the conversation. But then, later in the conversation, I was reminded that Bernard is fully aware of the hosts, since THAT'S HIS JOB, but I still wonder if they guided me through this thought process on purpose, knowing what I know now.1 point

Wow, I didn't know they killed it. I should search more before post it here. Yea it was a bit chaotic... But still... Yea I'd watch it too. I really feel sad. I started to watch Westworld btw. Very interesting story, and Ed Harris...1 point

^ Agreed. I watched most of it and thought it was a mess. I was not sad to see they killed it off. Anyways, who needs it with Westworld around, right?1 point

I'm so glad you used a comma there. That's a great bump, though, Dan. **BRENT**1 point

http://www.nytimes.com/2016/11/21/us/chattanooga-school-bus-fatal-crash.html There was a horrible bus crash about 15 minutes away from me earlier today that made national, and perhaps international news. 35 K-5th graders were on board, and they've confirmed 6 are dead. Thanks to those of you who have reached out, and my children are OK, but this has been tough on the city today. It's heartbreaking. The oldest of these kids was Xavier's age. This is just sickening. Hug your loved ones tonight; you just never know. **BRENT**1 point

Good thing happened too today, as comfortation. I got this today: This is the egmont clone that Birgir bought from China website. I was thinking for a long time for amplifier upgrade but I did not want to take 10 steps at a time, cuz I really want to progress slowly, for it's better and joyful to do. So with Birgir helping me a lot about lots of things, I bought it for the half of the price Birgir spent on it (not a discount, you can see how much he spent on this topic). Amplifier is extremely good for the money I spent, I've never listened it before modified but I read how bad it was before modified by him. But hey, he has magical hands. I mean, It is better than current top tier amps of Stax, imho. Thanks again Birgir. ps: I sold the bubble wraps and made some profit. Btw, I started to work about that top closure immediately. For a long time I wanted to work on granite. I'm making a granite cover for top of it. If I can succeed, I'll let you know when I start to work on full granite enclosures. And here is my current humble system:1 point

I understand pursuing it for your own knowledge and benefit but it's the production of boards that doesn't make sense to me. I'd argue that none of those people are going to change their minds regardless of what evidence you or Kevin provides to the contrary. The "just enjoy the beautiful music" crowd is always going to have members.1 point

I like to build pretty much anything so why not this? I've built 3 Egmonts (and I'm working on a fourth) when I could just as well build a ESX. Why am I working on old Stax amps when I could just as well assemble a KGSSHV which I have all the parts for? Why am I building a WES when I know it is bad? I could go on... I for one don't give a fuck about Ray but people stating that the A-10 is good just because it costs 6500$ has to be responded to. Well that and I have to find some use for the my new stacked PSU....1 point
