  4. Swapped out all the smoke alarms in the house with Nest Protect 2G units. They talk to you, which is a little weird. Hopefully they're not also listening -- no mic in the specs but who knows in these paranoid days? Anyway, now have the outside security cameras and indoor thermostats and smokes all accessible on my phone in one app, which I like. Probably would have preferred to use Apple HomeKit as a platform, but the device ecosystem isn't there at the moment.

  6. Thanks, everybody! It is tough. Saturday was one of the worst days of my life. But we'll recover. Donut and Jazz are starting to behave a little more normally. And looking after them will help keep us focused on the positive.

  7. If you are looking to spend in the neighborhood of $5k, then go BHSE (which is about $6k or thereabouts, all in). If you want to spend less than $4k then look to the myriad of KGSSHV carbon builders out there, or pick up a used one for even more savings. But none of the above answers are wrong (except maybe getting the T8000).

  9. Lance's Russian teammates helped out with a app they built which allows me to inventory Stretch's wine cellar. I call dibs on the Kosta Browne. Starting to tune up his weapons for this weekend's north american cup tournament in Kansas City. Much money will be spent buying new gear this weekend so I anticipate i will be drinking old wine to ease the pain.

  11. I would go BHSE. Tubes are definitely nice to have in the signal chain (midrange just sounds more natural imho) and more poweeer is always welcomed. But if you like the SR009s, you will probably be happy with any of these options (they were pretty nice with even the humble SRM-717, so I can't imagine any of these being inferior to that, but the T8000 might not be a big step up from that compared to the other two)

  12. I recommend getting a Badger, a Justin and a Spritzer locking them in a closet whichever comes out buy that amp. Badger = T8000 But there are a lot of impressions contrasting the BHSE and Carbon. It is down to your preferences, you will be happy with either decision.
