  2. Curved OB baffles like these could be cool - I presume you’ll could cut a stick to look like that over a few days?

  3. Those are Nylon Caterpillar Grommet Strips repurposed as wire spacers. I cut them to the number of slots needed. Each is held in place using a tie wrap and a wire tie mount. You can find them at Mouser by searching under "grommet strip". I had some lying around so I can't give a specific part number but they come in various sizes. I only used them on the output wires to keep them spaced in order to minimize the capacitance. 6. I’m sure we could come up with some good stuff. I’m seeing that drawing the part is the smallest part of the battle. Converting it into efficient CAM and choosing the proper tools/speeds/feeds is the challenge. Good thing I’m now at the point where I have to time and resources to do what I want.

  10. Threw together a tool board in VCarve. In hindsight I could have done a better job with the space but it works for now.

  11. Yeah. I have the sd Quattro H (occasionally post shots over at https://www.instagram.com/blessingx/ ) . Love the images. Dislike the ISO limitations to get the best images. Kinda consider it my [digital] film camera. The full frame Foveon version of the fp was promised last year, delayed until this year, then almost immediately delayed indefinitely... but “still coming.” They’ve announced some sensor bug that required them to start over. Sounded serious. They’ve said it will be a more Merrill design with 20MP triple layered (3x20), requiring a larger body than the fp and due to readout times, no video. Who knows if it will ever make it to market? It’s the opposite of a general purpose camera.

  12. There was a lot of discussion about Fuji's X-Trans sensors vs. the Bayer filter in the early days of the technology. I think people mentioned the different greens, for example, in Fuji images (and the human eye doesn't have "balanced" preferences for colors anyway), so there is as much art as science in developing the technology, in my opinion. https://www.imaging-resource.com/news/2020/04/20/fujifilm-x-trans-is-it-really-all-that-different

  13. and me was a Contax T1/Agfa Ultra 50 user before. Oddly, I never really shot Fuji film. But still interesting.

  14. We have a few Fuji users (hey Shelly!), and of course members are always evaluating jumping systems, but "colors!" is often the Fuji rallying cry, and I thought this link may be useful for some. And yes, sims and recipes can be applied to raws. It's not only a jpg conversation. https://www.imaging-resource.com/news/2020/08/18/fujifilm-film-simulations-definitive-guide

  16. Sketch it up by hand, send me something dimensioned and I'll put it into CAD for you and/or send Naaman a vector file that he can cut out. It is not hard. The hurdle for a lot of folks is either a) the drawing side or b) the machining side. If I had more time to play with the machine I think I could get up to some serious fun but, well, life and all that.

  18. Hm; no idea - I use DH Labs cables and they don’t seem to “sound”, so perhaps that means they are “neutral”?

  20. Jim=yes. Correction, snake is .5 meters in length. Decimal point placement is a weakness I have been dealing with throughout my professional career. 😁

  22. The locals pack them in quite nicely and yes, recent trends are that they ice up in several sections. I ended up finding a very lightly used set for $150 (vs. $200 per tire) so I grabbed those and I'll mount them up if it ever snows again. Currently I'm enjoying the heck out of the bike in mid-fat mode in weather that feels more like October than January. I have also further complicated the solution of the second bike by picking up another set of 27.5 wheels (again nearly new at less than half price) and appear to have found a frame to start building. Details once I actually have it on hand and can get it into rolling chassis status.

  26. I recently picked up its lower grade sibling, nicely restored, from a local dealer and fixer, to add a tape deck to my system. I did buy it more for its looks than its sound... but who can blame me for that?

  30. finished today my cfa2, was a trouble free build beside that i like small case (think is a tetris disorder i caught in my teenage years ;-). once again, these trafo covers look nice but the shielding effect is near zero, to get ride of a small hum i needed to add some grain oriented bands. heatsinkt of the case seems a bit overdesingned, gets only a bit warm. offset without servos was surprising low at around 10-15mv, could use nice matched mje15030/15031 from my previous dynahi project. the amps sounds very nice, one of the few amps that are neural and speedy that i like, really a "wire with gain" type of desing. thanks a lot for the design kevin gilmore and all of you for the help from this forum :-).

  32. Talked to dealer today. He says all he has to go by is a Prime warranty card which reads 3 years. Will call VPI tomorrow. 😐 EDIT: To tie this off, VPI says 3 years. Oh well, I have more options opening up with SOTA now.
