  6. No, I just wear it on top of my pandemic.

  7. I finally found a local roaster that in my humble opinion is at the top of the coffee I have enjoyed. Memli and the gent does a nice job not only of sourcing and roasting but also attempting to educate his patrons systematically. Anyhoo, posting because I purchased something special...for me at least. It was about as much as I've paid for coffee and it reminded me of the Yemeni very cherry forward coffee grawk recommend from Levercraft in Austin. It is so fricken rich. A more progressive process to get to the final product (see below if curious). One thing I very much like is the information included with each bag. HS

  8. The reissue? Speaking of which, been trying to get this particular record sounding better. Been a combo of dial-a-vta on the Tri, cart loading (going from a 100 to 250 ohms on my 40 ohm resistance DL-S1 - the usual recommendation is 10x but I forgot to adjust it from my previous much lower Zyx ... ) but the kicker was needing to clean the record. Well, took the RCM out of the garage where it survived a few Michigan winters and Texas summers over a decade and the reservoir and associated tubing had disintegrated - discovered after of course topping it off with fluid, which meant a torrential downpour of a gentle vinegar smell on top of my record cabinet. So ordered a new reservoir assembly (awesome that vendors sell serviceable equipment with available parts) and got the Sibelius record cleaned last night and dialed in and I think we are a go. The surface noise is so much better now! The higher cart loading setting is still in judgment phase.

  9. Yes, the reissue. I had a problem with my cartridge distorting during dense-complex passages with only this record. I tried adding weight, adjusting VTA, etc., and pretty much gave up on it. Years later after moving and setting up the same cartrige, I decided to try it again. It handled everything without issue. Still have no idea what the issue was before. I've always used a RCM.

  10. I’m starting to run out of room 😬 once the jointer and bandsaw arrive I won’t have much room. The wings are 45” wide so it would take up considerable real estate. Commercial space is calling my name. Or just moving to a place where I can build a 5000sqft shop. 🤔

  11. So you're walking around naked, with a watch?

  12. Thanks, Dan, I grabbed some fancy coffee. The two week shipping time to Moldova can’t be good, but local roasters are not killing it. In other news, just got a clever dripper in the mail and I’m in love. Great balance of good flavor and simplicity.

  14. To Nate’s comment... Wow, I’m now thinking of a smaller version I could inflate to do smaller jobs. I’ve seen the popup ones they use for spray tanning, but there a bit too small.

  15. Nice! I conducted the same experiment on a really dirty record I'd purchased from Goodwill. I was astonished at the job the VPI cleaner did. BTW, I'm keeping my eye out for that ultra low Benz. And I had no idea that Christina Ricci was a double threat?

  17. Surely your neighbors wouldn't mind if you bought one of the inflatable ones and bonus, you could let the kids use it as a bouncy house? https://www.amazon.com/Happybuy-Inflatable-13x8x7ft-Portable-Workstation/dp/B07LDNL7GF

  24. I have been waiting on a watch I ordered a long while. Knew it would be a test of patience. That’s all fine and good but I broke down and bought myself a little something in the meantime.... HS

  25. Heh, I can look at my living room and office rigs. Tkam, tkam, Colin, Colin/Doug, VPI, knucks, Jim, sherwood (or was it Posty?) Via Colin, Justin, Shelly, Jim again. Oddly enough, some of it I even bought new! (Never use that crap, though.)

  30. Neat! Thanks for sharing. Unrelated: my girl Alyson (bassist extraordinaire) covered one of the more wack Mr. Bungle tunes (sounds very Secret Chiefs 3):

  31. The Leftovers More than a little contrived, melodramatic, nihilistic, preachy, and silly(!) – just my cup of tea. Some odd parallels with the pandemic situation, so somewhat prescient.

  32. Can you really call it an intro if it takes up an entire side of an album? I've not heard this extended mix, but I've been a huge fan of Soft Cell since the early 80's. My Father hated it when I'd play 'Sex Dwarf' at a high volume. I had a dance completely coriographed to 'Tainted Love'. Hmmm, I just realized that maybe I wasn't as straight appearing as I thought I was.

  33. It's hard to imagine who went: "What this extended edition really needs is a bunch of solo clarinet!" But God bless him (would definitely have been a him in the '80s).

  34. I can't stop listening to this stream, especially the song "Shu!", which starts around 13:56 and goes for about 8 minutes. But the whole thing is laid back sublime dancey grooviness.
