  1. My first prototype of collective control for helicopters is working. I need to do something with "L-shaped stringers" (I don´t know if it´s the name of this thing) and the wheel that controls the hardness of the knob (I need a 3D print). On the other hand, I have managed to do the assistance (spring and shock absorber) travel very smoothly and Arduino works correctly with all functions that I have added, even with the accelerator (taken from an electric bike). In DCS it's going really well. With the Huey, the MI24, the Gazelle ... for just a few bucks and a few hours of work it is a joy to be able to control these helicopters as a "real" pilot would. Don't be bad 😁
  2. Ping ponged part of a pen blank to test out out the rotary 4th axis.
  3. It’s spelled however Steve Jobs says it’s spelled. RIP.
  4. Made a drum stick for Def Leopard.
  5. May Our Chambers Be Full Emma Ruth Rundle, Thou 2020 Example:
  6. Ash plank, finished entirely with hand tools (planes and scraper). Well, not quite true, I dimensioned it using machine tools (radial saw and planer/thicknesser), and then moved to hand tools. Second pic is paper thin plane shavings from the process. This thing, once it has a coat or two of something to be determined, is a coat rack!
  7. on the 200V breakdown setting my dy294 initially puts out a maximum of 712uA (tested on a brymen bm869s) and about 530uA on the 1000V setting. This is with the dy294 powered at 6Vdc from a bench power supply. if you reduce the input voltage to the dy294 to about 3VDC from the usual 6V, the 200V breakdown outputs about 180V at 375uA and the 1000V range gives about 570V at 270uA. about the lowest you can go is 2VDc input before the microprocessor crashes or the breakdown readings on the display get radically incorrect. At 2VDC input the 200V settings gives about 105V at 225uA and on the 1000V setting 365V at 171uA
  8. So, I listened to this earlier. I really enjoyed it - had a very Laurel Canyon feel to it. So, I listened to the new Album. And didn't like it as much. It is good. But I feel that it was a bit over produced and does not highlight her singing as much as the stripped down version gives. Head of Roses Flock Of Dimes 2021 Example of first song from Tiny Desk:
  9. Getting the daily working man’s Finnish Hawaiian fix. Kai Hyttinen - Honolulu.
  10. Shirley Collins' new EP, Crowlink.
  11. Probably yeah, this is just temporary in order to actually use the amp, so I grabbed the first cheap momentary switch I could find. I'll get an all black one when I get around to reworking it to use a latching switch instead of momentary.

Many years ago when I was first getting into the headphone audio hobby I was told by a headphone amp manufacturer "who are you going to believe, me or your lying ears"?

Ok that shit just made my day. In terms of build quality, sound quality etc. there is no comparison between those two. The Jade is just garbage by comparison. Gotta love people "helping" though...

This coming from a well respected audio supplier trying to sell me something. More likely this.

Is that the version where you pass on the hifiman product and opt for the 007?!
  17. You just need to reset your sarcasm filter, re-tune your senses of humour and the ridiculous, and enjoy the site for the endless hours of enjoyment that can be had sifting through the hype, trolling, rumour, innuendo, false information, logical disconnects, and fallacies which infest the threads in copious quantities. It is advised that, for your sanity's sake that you abstain from entering the Sound Science forum as it is a grossly fallacious abuse of that once renowned and respected term.
  18. This is indeed the problem with any publishing that relies on ad revenue alone, it is not in their interest to give a bad review. Makes one wonder if any of them can be trusted, seems to be the lowest common denominator which flocks to the reviewing circus.
  19. RIP Tony Esposito, great NHL Goalie.....he and his brother Phil were a dynamic duo (on different teams) throughout the 70's.... And....fuck cancer (pancreatic in this case)
  20. Got my replacement Amazon(tm) Chase(tm) credit card and activated it. Still waiting on my Sears(tm) Mastercard(tm) one. Also ordered a new Taxachusetts driver's license online. $25 and "7-10 days" for it to arrive. Solid Masshole/10 right there. Currently shopping for chain wallets on BozosRocketFund.com . As the zoomers would say I am unironically buying a chain wallet so I don't have to go through this ballbust again.
