Here is picture of the amplifier in work. Mono version. AMB sigma 22 PSU. It has four trimmers. Lower middle controls the offset. Middle upper controls the balance. The two outer controls respectively channels bias. Input stage current source/sink approximately 1.7 mA. Output bias 35 mA. Setup procedure I used: • Let heats sink get warmed up to working temperature • Trim offset to zero • Trim balance to zero • Set desired bias of both channels to desired bias Redo previous procedures if needed. I find the setup easily done.3 points

My brother (works in the liquor industry) says he has an extra Ardbeg baseball hat - need to remind him to get it for me! I would wear that over my usual sports hat (Boston Bruins hockey). Somewhat related: one of my best friends is from the UK originally, and loves Marmite. I found this video and he loved it!2 points

Just started Reacher. Al said it was pretty good. I told him it didn't seem like my kind of thing. Not sure why I ever question him anymore? Maybe just out of stubbornness.1 point

Also, not to harp on the subject, but I thought his cover of Paramore's "Misery Business" was both musically uninspiring and in poor taste, considering that it came two years after Paramore announced they would no longer play the song due to their disagreement with its message. (It was really fun to hear it with a good drummer, tho)1 point

@ktm - i feel your pain, almost literally. Yesterday, for the second time in six months I had the dryer almost fully apart. Midway thru: The last time I "fixed" it the problem was just that the belt had jumped the idler pulley. I did notice while I was in there that the belt had a good sized crack but the need to continue to do laundry trumped the need to fix everything. It's only about an hour to get to that level of disassembly. So when it started making a weird screeching noise last weekend I ordered a maintenance kit (belt, idler assembly, and some other misc. bits) for a whopping $40. Andrew and I started disassembling it yesterday around 8:30 and two hours later had a fully functioning, much better sounding, 12+ year old dryer.1 point

i wasn't expecting 2022 to have some personal bourbon renaissance but that's how it broke. against extremely long odds i was selected a month ago with 9 other folks to do Four Roses first ever barrel selections for their official Mellow Moments club. event was on Thursday then bottles sold yesterday. made some bourbon friends amongst the group and imbibed considerably. felt like an HC event. picked top 3 out of 10 barrels. i am happy to report I thieved everyone's samples on the top choice, 11 year OESV from north side of Warehouse P. heavy pours on a fucking belter. ^Brent the master distiller and Mandy who runs the program ^magnificent 10 for selections1 point

It's being positioned as opening up to artistic nudes. Still Flickr is owned by SmugMug and SmugMug HQ is a small crumbling building with a permanent for sale sign about 2000 feet from my house. Every time I pass it I'm always amazed they're still going. So I guess, they're trying? It’s an interesting compromise at least compared to Instagram (high bar I know). I suppose all discussions of nudity are colored generationally. Certainly the Art/art-porn divide is. In other shilling, DxO just released PureRaw 2. PureRaw has without a doubt changed the way I shoot in high ISO situations or even just general clean up. I don't often have matching body/lens combos to use optical fixes (nor LR workflow mentioned in below review), but the denoise and sharpening during demosaicing is pretty amazing. Seriously. And they like to support older cameras. Anyway you may want to give if a free trial try. https://www.imaging-resource.com/news/2022/03/16/dxo-pureraw-2-hands-on-review1 point

@P3t4: The board and schematic archives are in a transitional period right now (read the stax mafia circuit boards thread). If you're after the solid-state Carbon, I think this post has links to the schematics of the Carbon amp and the GRHV power supply. As for boards, you can get your own made (links to recent Gerbers should be floating around here somewhere), or buy from someone who has extras. It'll help to review this entire thread, as I think it covers every tricky point of the build. Other things to read, and think about: The original KGSSHV thread has great info on the basics of building an electrostatic amp. It's old and long, but well worth reading. A few more basics are covered in the old DIY electrostatic amp thread. If you decide to build an off-board heatsink design (like all Carbon variants), I hope you have access to at least a drill press. A full metal shop would be better. Depending on your experience with building high voltage circuits, starting with something non-electrostatic — like a Dynalo with GRLV — might be a good idea.1 point

Wow. I just learned that a woman I knew in the mid-late 00s during the heyday of the 413 drum n bas scene died in January. She was only 38. The scuttlebutt, which I take with a dump truck sized grain of salt is that she got ahold of some cocaine laced with fetanyl. I have no idea if that's remotely true. Vicky was a wild an hedonistic girl in her 20s, but I never saw her hanging out with the cokheads. What I remember about her was energetic, outgoing, uninhibited and uninterested in what other people thought of her. She led charge among her group of friends on events like Camp Bisco (a huge music festival revolving around the jam band the Disco Biscuits) or just local DNB weekly event. I know she rubbed a few people the wrong way, especially men who had a higher opinion of themselves than she did. Certainly 38 is entirely too young an age for anybody to go, especially a speeding bullet like Victoria. Somewhat related, a dnb DJ I knew died last November, days after he turned 44. His death was definitely due to a fetanyl overdose. That shit is everywhere, being used to lace all sorts of things where one would not expect to find a synthetic opiate and it's frighteningly deadly.0 points
