^^^ Hell yes, Al, I've been meaning to try to make something similar for years (basically a gyro) and just never seem to get there. Me: 11lb brisket went on at 7am. Expect the flat to be ready for dinner, burnt ends to be ready for all things leftovers by later this evening. I'm trying a somewhat modified rub based on recent "discoveries" by YouTubers that Texas has been lying saying that it only uses salt and pepper on brisket. Turns out (allegedly) most use some version of Lawry's Seasoned Salt so I added a bit of that this time to see if I notice any real difference.4 points

If Texas' lips are moving, you can assume she's lying. She tried to tell me that she was the biggest state in the union. And be careful about building the perfect gyro. Because if you succeed, I'm movin' in! I'd actually marry a woman, if she could make a good gyro and a good fish and chips!3 points

Went to one of my local dealers today, got to listen to the LX-60's as well as the LSX II's. The 60's are amazingly balanced top to bottom, very smooth yet detailed sounding; the bass is deep yet very tuneful I'd say. Yet at times I thought it was still a little too polite...maybe TOO refined..... The LSX II's were a little more bloomy in the mids; I actually heard more of the room & reverb on a couple recordings. It may not have been as flat as the LS-60's tonally, but it was not glaring, and it sounded quite nice. I think the LSX II's with the KC62 subwoofer (they have a line level output for subs I believe) would be an awesome pairing at about 1/2 the cost of the LS-60's. But damn do those 60's look nice!3 points

Preparing an old style active battery with LEDs. I've decided to make separate boards to test them separately from the main amplifier. Small changes in the AB: 1. replaced 2SC3381 with HN4C51J - I've measured them and they are very good dual bjts with very close halves. 2. replaced 2SA1486 with 2SA1413. The same transistor with different case. Power dissipation here is close to zero, so I decided to leave 1486 for hotter places π 3. 2SK246 -> 2SK208. The similar situation here with the same transistor in a different package. 4. LEDs are LTL-4221NLC2 points

Connections Matthew Whitaker 2021 https://album.link/i/1574793651 Example: I went into this one blind. I thought I heard or heard-of Matthew before (this is where Al will say - yes, we went to an SF Jazz show, and we met him - I can accept that). But I went in pretty blind, and at first, I was not sure. It felt like it was a little bit out there and a touch out of control, but then the songs just kept coming, 16 of them for almost an hour and a half. It started to feel more like a jam session (or a series of them). And they were all over the place, standards (like the Rondo above), to heavy groove tracks. I queued it up again before I began this post, and I don't have any reservations that I had before. This will go into rotation.2 points

More pics, please π Looks awesome! Btw, any special reason you did use SMD resistors for R12, R13? Did you use the 2SK208-Y(TE85L,F) or the 2SK208-R(TE85L,F)1 point

It just dawned on me, Steve. You've lived in the 3 biggest states in the country.1 point

There is a line level output for subs as well as digital processing to make it simple to integrate sub/s. I haven't heard this setup yet, but the reviews are sure favorable. Smart speakers are the future, and KEF has a lot going for it in this game.1 point
