  6. Applied for a bunch of jobs, then made and served a bunch of pasta, and then played a bunch of board games while listening to a bunch of LPs. Not a bad Thursday evening.

  7. If that has a 10mhz pure sine wave output, then other than power supply and other monitor stuff associated with it, that is all you need. the complete unit actually has the same part in it that is sold on ebay as a module plus the power supply, and likely an output buffer. But the name of the game is 10.00000000mhz (or better accuracy) with a jitter of less than 100 femtoseconds. which my beast actually beats on both frequency and jitter by a fair amount. (one month accuracy verified against a primary caesium beam clock, less than 1 x 10-12 seconds) personally I think this is overkill to the extreme. The only reason I did it was I was given the thing for free, and was challenged to make a 40+ year old monster work to original factory specifications. And i'm supposed to be emptying out the house, not dragging home nonsense like this. But it really is a patek phillipe movement, 19 jewels. A thing of beauty. And a rubidium lightbulb, a magnetic microwave chamber, a rubidium phase splitter etc... Old school

  10. ^I have the original vinyl. The cover still shocks - I cannot imagine anyone producing an album cover like that now. Saw them live in '73.

  11. Quick update for those interested in PriceJapan.com - site is no longer displaying any content. This at least means that no more folks can be purchasing goods that never materialize, so perhaps that is a good thing. EDIT - just launched a dispute with PayPal - then noticed the 6 month time limit. I placed my order on 24th April, and had until 24th October to launch a dispute. Good thing I didn't wait any longer. For anyone else left hanging by PriceJapan.com, I suggest raising a dispute with PayPal or your whatever facility you used for payment asap. Doesn't look like these guys are coming back anytime soon.

  15. Just got to the airport for a 5 day trip to NY and realized I left my phone at home. Too late now. This is going to be fun. It'll be like going back in time to the 90s. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

  17. Nels Cline -- Lovers Lots of people will like this record, but I think @blessingx should definitely give it a listen. I'm going to see it live in the Spring at SFJazz, so other locals should check it out to see if they want to join in...

  19. So about a month ago another kitty found sucker Steve. It's mixed coloration is weird, but cute. It's Black and Orange, in the funniest Jackson Pollock way. It looked very much in need of food and a friend. It took about two weeks before I could pet her, but once I did she decided it was the greatest thing in the world. She almost wants to be loved on more than she wants food. Also about two weeks ago, her boyfriend ( a Black cat) started showing up, and I noticed that kitty looked pregnant. Blackie is now a fixture here as well, and I've been worrying about the safety of the future kittens. I thought I had enough time to find her a new home before the birth, but this morning I realized that I had horribly miscalculated. It seems as though she was not pregnant, but lactating. She must have had the little kitties about the time she met me. I didn't pick up on it at all, but for about a week she's really been sizing up Susie. She kept getting closer and closer, then actually rubbing noses. At this point she's completely content with Susie's presence. And now it all makes sense. This morning, at feeding time, she introduced Susie and I to her family. I counted 4, but they are shy and there could be more. They look to be about a month old. I'm pretty sure she's moving them in, so Susie and I went to buy sardines this morning. No actual contact yet, but it won't be far off. They are so damned cute! Pics when I can get 'em.

  20. Hmm. Looks Russian-ish to me, though it's not. I love Russian watches. And Jacob, the Jeager is way cool. Not for me, because I already have more dress watches than I could ever wear, given that I just about never dress up. But lust-able anyway.

  21. I finally got the last plate machined. I had to replace the spindle on my CNC and also made a mistake on the CAD so had to redo this plate, but it's looking great now.
