Canjam 2010 Meet Impressions
Can't believe you guys went to Giordano's instead of Gino's East. Lou Malnati's comes close. Giordano's is way down the list. And duck fat fries can't be missed.

The Orthodynamic Thread
I have the poorest audio memory known to man. I had the HD-800s, T-1, and the O2's nearby to A/B. I heard the LCD-2 about 3 hours later in the Woo room so I really can't make a decent comparison and I won't try to guess.

The HE-5LE was really unimpressive. Cramped, slow. I did like the HE-6, however. If the amplification requirements are not extreme, it seems like a winner at around $1300. I'd certainly take it over the T1 and probably the HD-800.

Canjam 2010.
Kevin, it was raining outside. Maybe that was the cause? Will it be ok when it dries out?

Post the last thing you bought!
Fullcount is supposedly great but I've never owned a pair. They are, as with SC or any indigo dye, very difficult to fade. Remember that with any arcuates, you can remove them easily. Last I heard about Ooe, you still have to directly order them from the 2 guys that make them. Here's their site: [url=http://ooe-yofukuten.com/]

Eh, Evisu, even the Japanese variety, has taken a hit in quality lately. If you want something plain in a vintage cut, I like sugar cane or flat head. If you want something really handmade, try Ooe Yofukuten.

The season finale of House was shot entirely with the 5D mk II.

Help Putting Together a Fanless PC
The Aspire Revo should do all 3. I saw one at the store and it was dead quiet but it wasn't under load.

The Ultimate DIY Part 2 ? The KGITSOJC
That looks great and it would give the front panel a nice, clean look. Since I would be mostly using a remote, I prefer it this way but I know others that prefer physical knobs and buttons. Anyway, what's the timeframe for one of these? If it'll be after June, I'm definitely in for one.

Assemblage 2.6/2.7 and Icarium rants
$500 is low for a 2.7 The cable doesn't matter. edit: yeah i realized it when i wrote the post. hence the edit. edit again: I love edits that make subsequent posts senseless. edit again: Oh btw Stretch, I don't know from personal experience but I think you are right, horses are a much tighter fit.

Congrats on the buy. They are extremely difficult to find. Yes, if you plan to resell, talk to Filburt.

I traded a bottle to KG for CanJam but I don't have the patience to wait so I bought another one:

Men of a Certain Age
It's just sad because this show is so intelligent and well written. It's just not easy to watch. I stopped watching because even though I enjoyed it while watching an ep, starting another one seemed like a chore. I have a feeling that as viewship dwindles, it will be cancelled.

gPhone
I haven't read a lot about the Windows 7 phones but I've seen the interface. As predicted it is a lot like the zune hd and it looks awesome. So, is MS just releasing the OS or the hardware as well?

Parasound DAC Owners....
I'm pretty sure that Filburt and/or Danc found that the PMD100 was better. I think the biggest mod that needed to be made was the change to K chips and output stage.

Really dismal efforts.
I find it interesting that in 2003, Give Up could barely make it to the top 100 but Owl City, a crappy watered down version of The Postal Service mixed with Mae, is easily top 10.

It really depends on how well you take care of your knives. Carbon steels maintain sharpness longer but you need to sharpen them by stone and you need to wipe water off them constantly until a patina forms on it. Stainless steel knives can maintain sharpness for a few months if you don't debone anything or chop frozen stuff. Tojiro, Global G2, Misono are all good options.
