  1. My mom might be interested in your Max, Andrew. I'll ask.
  2. Add me to the growing HC-consensus on this one. One of the best new albums I've listened to in the last few weeks.
  3. Looks pretty damn legit. Don't love the 5000+lbs weight, but at least the electrics have a lower center of gravity than a traditional combustion engine car. Will be real curious to see if it starts to have a material effect on the Tesla Model S sales.

    Get your game on!

This was very, very cool. You are an astronaut exploring a solar system and trying to figure out the mysteries of a an extinct civilization that came before, only there is a twist to it. After 22 minutes from when you start playing the sun goes supernova and kills everything, resetting the game. After each reset of the time loop you remember what you did, but you have to start back at the starting world. You use what you've learned after each loop to dig deeper and solve the mysteries of each planet and the solar system at large. Basically a game version of Groundhog Day or Edge of Tomorrow. Just a fascinating premise that the developers deliver on.
  5. Toured Salesforce tower in SF, the 2nd highest building west of the Mississippi. Karl the Fog (yes, it has a name) was out in force but the views were amazing nevertheless.
  6. Some day I need to go back and listen to the albums he did with Genesis. Prog can be pretty impenetrable to those of us who didn't experience it at the time.
  7. For sure going to see the musical someday.
  8. Read the book as well. I tried the show but didn't make it past ep. 1.
  9. The Plot Against America - Philip Roth What if Charles Lindbergh defeated FDR in the presidential election of 1940 and decided to form a non-aggression pact with Hitler's Germany? The effect of that historical counter-factual on the Jewish community of Newark, NJ is the center that this book revolves around. It is about to become an HBO mini-series, so I figured I'd get out ahead of the curve. This was my first Philip Roth book. I enjoyed it.
  10. In honor of this stupid meme: Put this back on. ?
  11. New Bon Iver album. I'm never gonna say no to more stuff from Justin Vernon.
  12. Tales of the City (1993) I am surprised how much I liked this. Great characters, great writing, and the city looks as amazing as it always does. Hard to believe PBS had the guts to air this in the early 90s.
  13. Loved his work. The scene of Dylan and Donovan playing to friends in the hotel room is one of my favorite documentary moments ever. Donovan wows the crowd with “To Sing for You” only to get completely blown out of the water by Dylan who follows with “Its All Over Now, Baby Blue.”
  14. I am reading it as well, and have recommended it to others. Some real good info for those of us who don't sleep nearly as well as we should. There is a lot to learn that isn't intuitive.
  15. Leave his father alone. Trust me.
  16. Some say the end is near. Some say we'll see Armageddon soon...
  17. Happy birthday, Todd!
  18. Oh yes. It is about time.
  19. The Killer Angels - Michael Shaara Wow. This was amazing. I'm not normally a fan of historical fiction but this is a hell of a book. The praise it gets and the reverence with which it is treated are totally deserved. If you have ever had any interest in military history, the civil war, or historical fiction this is an absolute must read.
  20. Happy birthday!
  21. Damn. RIP.
  22. Gen 2 CMoy?
  23. It has got Daniel Lanois, Rhiannon Giddens, Willie Nelson, D'Angelo, etc. etc. It is brilliant. No knowledge of the game required to enjoy.
  24. I am also a FLW fan except for when I have jury duty at the courtrooms at the Marin county civic center (which he designed). The courtrooms have no right angles anywhere. That triggers me.
  25. Underrated. She had some amazing hits.
