It's the size of a can of tuna, innit.

Or at least lighten up on all those nasty complex carbohydrates...

"I stopped him, isn't that good enough? That's what cameras are for." Hey, just think of it as cardio.

1968 Buick LeSabre. Nothing wrong with the base car, but we let it deteriorate all to hell. Windshield wiper fluid was dispensed by opening the window -- and slowing the car, less the backdraft spit it in your face -- and squirt by hand with a bottle. Music supplied by a cassette player and two bookshelf speakers -- completely independent of the car. I think we abandoned it in the middle of a snowstorm and never bothered to retrieve it. "So when are you going to come and get it?" "Uh...I don't think we are." "What do you mean?" "Why don't you just go ahead and keep it." "..." "..." "What?!?! No, you have to!" "Nope." etc.

There is a thread on reddit about retrofitting the iPod classic with a SSD, and there was a concern that offered such services. I have not partook, myself, as I've moved on to the Walkman + SD cards, myself -- you can get a lot of lossless on one 128G card. I recommend loading up the thumb drive. I found with some judicious choices, you can get pretty decent results, you just have to be alright with a prearranged playlist. Like playing one of your showreel shows. On repeat. 5 times a day. Which I've done, quite happily (as you know).

Lollers, that's pretty much where I went, too. Except pyromaniac, since I had recently listened to MC 900 Ft. Jesus.

Well done, Jacob.

They're fucking ubiquitous -- like Jesus*, they're everywhere...and that's all I know about them. Mazda3 owner, here. I still love mine. Lollers at "...get the ugly out of their systems in a single shot..." So true. That's "people named Jesus in a hispanic community", not "the son of god". Yes, I am both racist and anti-superstitious.

I have a feeling that even if we turn into a post-apocalyptic society, you'd probably find a way to DJ Test Tone on pirate Internet. pInternet...no, wait, faux-nternet...Iinternet.

I can't do that with my eyebrows.

Finished Legend, so now of course I'm watching Parks & Recreation.

No, I suspect what happened was, someone yelled, "suspicious package", because I've been carrying them around in that generic hardware case that Chris gave me, and it's a little beat up looking, which would make it even more suspicious, and my "look" on the train is a hoodie and sunglasses, so if they saw who left it... But your point is still valid, and for that, I am grateful. There are a lot of good people on the train. And it's rubbed off on me -- I've gotten out of my seat so that two people could sit together, and I think when other people observe that sort of behaviour, they try to do it, too. It certainly worked on me. Especially when it's the same people on the train every day, and you kinda sorta get to know each other. Every time I bring a salad on the train, that same conductor always stops me and asks me if I know the rule about food on the train ("share it with the conductor"), to which I try to respond with something different every time. (My favourite was, "bring a treat for the good ones, give the assholes a hard time", to which I was ready to respond with a cookie if he asked me which one was he, but that was the one time he didn't ask me. Dagnabit.) Yeah, I've been leaving a lot of stuff -- prescription glasses (also got those back), hoodie in a restaurant (got that back too), winter plaid hunter's cap (never got that back). Geezin' sucks. On the bright side, my doctor thinks it all boils down to sleep apnea, so as soon as I can start using my bi-pap regularly, I should see an improvement in my behavior. Also, I called them as soon as I realized, and the conductor now knows me by sight, so he went out of his way to find them.

Yakitori chicken rice bowl from Miso Honey food truck (hint, say it out loud three times...oh, miso honey, (oh) miso honey, (oh) miso honey...)

I left my Sony MDR-Z7 headphones on the train on Wednesday; I retrieved them on Thursday.

Well the second half was my more serious answer -- I seriously do love that Sony Walkman. I also recently saw B&H Photo&Video put on sale one of the FiiO units (some of them have two slots! (cue sexual double entendres)), which I think are popular around these parts (hint: try searching on 'fiio'), and I'd certainly feel comfortable with the Pioneer or the Onkyo devices. I am also recommending you stick with the HeadAmp unit, as I don't think that is the weak link in your chain. I think the only reason you may think it's an issue is because of what you're used to hearing. By the way, mine is purple, so it doesn't contradict Steve's statement.

Sony NW-WM1Z + JH16 or go home -- nothing is going to sound as good as Magico+Pass system, I don't think. I have the low budget equivalent, and listen daily for hours: Sony Walkman, HeadAmp Pico Slim/Pico/Pico Power (alternating) + Etymotic entry level earbuds (below even the ER-4S -- yes, stick with those)/Sony MDR-Z7

Mmm...that reminds me, I have some (admittedly pre-cooked) shrimp in the freezer and some cocktail sauce in the fridge...
