  1. No, that's my point, anything that could be described as "pop" is probably more traditional than anything else he's done, including Faith No More. Am I misunderstanding what you're describing? Never mind, I'll just go listen to it from somewhere, find out for myself.
  2. That's saying something. So "trad" is the new 'bizarre'?
  3. Well that's not very...oh.
  4. Yeah, that's pretty (mumbles)ed up. And yes, it's snowing here, too, not supposed to amount to anything, but when I was driving earlier in the day, it was slick.
  5. :\ Condolences, Al, there's nothing worse than an aborted music system on which you can't play music. Well, other than maybe a shovel to the back of the head.
  6. ^ That.
  7. ...losing? Hey, take my giving you hard time with a grain of salt -- I have a gambling problem, too: I don't win. (They don't call it a problem if you win.)
  8. That sounds awesome.
  9. Fade to Black, Volume Two -- Smoked Baltic Porter
  10. I need something like that on a T-shirt -- Dick-in-a-box never gets old.
  11. I no can see.
  12. A 56-year-old Omega Seamaster? Yeah, that's pretty cool.
  13. Started Naked Heat.
  14. [sulu]Oh. Mah.[/sulu] That's just the lolcat spelling, I changed the sig in my droid so it says that instead of "...using tapatalk".
  15. (makes a note..."Jan"..."Marc"...)
  16. Watched Human Target -- as much as I loved the anti-Christmas sentiment, it wasn't the best episode. There was something just awkward about some of the dialog.
  17. Pimpin', man, and I mean that in the best possible way. Those red speakers that Focal make...I really like them.
  18. Why, what did they do?
  19. I don't even know what my ratios are -- the categories are: iPod listening in car; iPod listening elsewhere (office or home); computer listening; CD (much lower lately -- I'm more likely to rip and listen on computer or iPod); vinyl (that one I know -- zero ); playing (also zero lately ); making up or replaying stuff in my head (quite a bit lately); movies (more than a little); my cats (quite a bit lately); ambient noise (not the genre -- I just didn't want to put "silence") (also quite a bit lately -- I tend not to listen when I'm reading).
  20. (wiggles eyebrows)
  21. I think it's psychological, the relief you feel working on a computer with an SSD drive (or SSD front end) is like crack, it makes you feel good ...-> more enjoyable listening.
  22. Dew et. If you still need to go soundbar because of the form factor and/or WAF, there is (probably) one sound bar that would be good, but I forget which one it is. The Yamaha? Or rather, one of the Yamahas? They use the same technology as passive radar arrays (in reverse, obviously) to "direct" the sound, by phase delaying each driver based on the input, and which channel it corresponds to. Maybe they all use that now, I don't know. Here is a bunch of reviews.
  23. Oppo DVD player for the transport?
  24. I don't hear any whistling.
