  1. Happy belated birthday, David. I wish it was a very good one
  2. Wow! Happy anniversary
  3. Jacob, just Take care and get that thumb healing quick.
  4. Audirvana has direct DSD output to DSD capable DACs. But it doesn't have multichannel features afaik.
  5. Absolutely amazing. Going from one rail to the other, then the pencils... that's awesome balance sense and precision.
  6. Awesome news, Shelly!!! I'm glad this hip issue is next to be solved. Best wishes, Steve, that sounds good

Not a high quality tune, but somewhat fun http://vimeo.com/68629850
  8. Problem in Rome is traffic. It's always heavily congested, damn slow. Even an ambulance would have trouble there.
  9. I guess that the other advantage of getting the signal balanced from the mic is having twice the voltage, once you sum the legs. Considering they're tiny signals...
  10. Shocking and sad. Great loss, he'll be missed.
  11. I see, I knew their early albums were unobtainium, but I thought there could be other rumors.
  12. What's the conspiracy theory about Boards of Canada?
  13. I'm using the plus. I tried it, compared it to Decibel, Amarra and a couple more, then decided it has a decent price-performance ratio and paid for it. I don't use iTunes--just to feed the iPod--, and have a good lot of DSD, 24/88-96 and FLAC files, so it filled well quite some needs.
  14. Try Audirvana, Jacob.
  15. Happy day you dads!

    Thanks!
  17. that's sad, Jacob. I'm sorry for your inconveniences and also for the poor old lady.
  18. I could live with that hadn't other amps, but some of my friends who listened to the combo (who by the way love the O2) found the HD800-B22 pairing unlistenable. To each one his own, I guess.
  19. What a pity, you could have placed a nice headphone rig in that space. Music makes shitting way more pleasant
  20. Really? OMG now I understand that funny smell.
  21. I was thinking there was a MBA with retina display, that'd be ideal Now seriously the weight isn't that different just 300grs. Battery life seems to be way larger, specially the 13" MBA. For a bit more money you can swap the HDD in the rMBP for a SSD, so weighs are more similar and probably battery life will be longer too.
  22. I've listened to the HD800 (which I own, modded according--more or less-- to Anaxilus/Tyll directions) with the Beta22 (mine is a Nugget Audio unit). It's a great system, very good sound quality, but a bit brittle, not really involving and enjoyable in the lush-musical sense. Sound-wise it's awesome, plenty of detail and rough quality. The Gilmore Reference (kind of GS-X) or the Luxman are more musical and enjoyable. It all comes down on what type of sound you enjoy and like better. The 3000ANV are nice cans, but not really in the same league of resolution, detail and balance as the HD800. For closed cans are fun though. Still unsure if I like the L3000 better.
  23. Happy Birthday!!!!
  24. ^This. Following one's heart and instinct is what usually ends up making one happy. It's just that sometimes it takes some time to show. And it's not always the easiest path.
