What's in da baaaahhhhhxxxxx? Some parts. Darker blue than we thought. Happiest kid in the world in this moment. **BRENT**

  • Liked the Turbo Vado Super Light so much, I bought another one in Michigan. Same silver and black. We couldn't find Claire an SL in Northern Michigan or online so we got her the  regular Turbo Vado 5.

  • I bought an e-bike. Specialized Turbo Vado 5.0 Super Light 2022 edition. Claire got a 4.0 step-through.

Is that a biscuit holder on the downtube?

Just 2.0.  It's a 2020 Roubaix S-Works Team - found it on FB marketplace with ~500mi on it (allegedly) and started stalking it more than 6 months ago.  Picked it up for 1/3 MSRP and I can't find a mark on it and it came with a few minor extras.  I also managed to source a very lightly used set of period correct Dura-Ace Di2 to equip it with and other than the battery holder and a few tiny pieces, I've got everything I need.  That box arrives Monday and my shop should be finishing the build Thursday.  I can't wait to ride it.

Fuck, man. Your current bike is SO hot, yet the ne wone is just... man. I had to come back to look at it again (I may be a drink or 3 in.)

I fucking approve!

Also, the Future Shock 2.0 does not suck.

At first I thought we had a little quake here on the West coast. Then I realized it was Brent having an orgasm.

Ewww!

Which is weird, don’t understand his fascination with having a nice bike, when a Schwinn will throw him to the ground just as well.

Looking good, Nate!

And yet I think even a Schwinn is wasted on him. Surely a Huffy is more fitting.

Here she is, finished as of today courtesy of my LBS who did the final wiring and brake lines.  As it sits, with pedals, cages, saddle, 17.3lbs.

Of course we are now supposed to get snow tomorrow so it'll be a bit before I get it out for the maiden voyage. 🤬

Love it!

Now, though, I'm just wondering how to get that closer to 6.79kg.

Not sure that's possible.  It's already running carbon everything and full Dura Ace so maybe you could find 500g or so with different pedals, crank (ditch the power meter), and wheels plus going tubeless, but I doubt we could find the 1000g it'd take to challenge the UCI weight limit.  i'll probably try to focus on the rider losing two pounds.

No bike pix, b/c I was too exhausted and had to take a nap after so much riding, but my Porsche and Diablo-aficionados may can appreciate a couple numbers up there.

How did you affix your fitbit to the R/C car?

Me, @cetoole, and Xavier went out. Xavier is just 1 week out from his surgery so trying to get some rides in before he takes an ACl break. #TooSoon

Fingers crossed for a great surgery outcome!

Anybody notice that Mark Cavendish yesterday won his 35th stage win in the Tour de France? Aged 39, he has finally won more stages than the legendary Eddy Merckx?

Actually Merckx won his 34 stages in a combination of wins  - mountain top, breakaway etc. Cav has done his 35 stage wins all in a bunch sprint. He actually threw his chain as he crossed the line, having gone from 1700W into the bike to freewheeling kind of instantly.

When one stage win is a defining moment for a pro cyclist for most riders in the Tour, 35 stage wins is heroic.

Everyone who he outsprinted slapped him on his back as they crossed the line in his wake - and all riders, including Tadej Pogačar in yellow almost queued up to hug him - a popular win by the whole peleton.

The "Manx Missile" finally has the 35 wins monkey finally off his back.

I don't know the outcome of today's stage so don't spoil it in response, but I have two theories related to Cav's win. It is distinctly possible that he won on his own virtues and wily ways, though I wonder. Jasper Philipson stole a win away from Cav last year in stage 8 that I felt the kid could have just let him take to seal the record. Cav crashed out the next day and his possible last chance was over.

So, theory 1 is that Philipson didn't go all out yesterday and let Cav have his moment. It wouldn't be the worst thing he could do. Theory 2 is that Philipson was more injured by his earlier crash than they let on and he didn't really have the legs to beat Cav yesterday. It will be interesting to see if Philipson dominates the rest of the sprints like he did last year...

All of that said, I am not taking anything away from the Manx Missile and I am thrilled he hit 35. At least.

Oh, and the bunny hop was epic. So was Pogacar's hard brake and shimmy to avoid a road divider earlier in the stage. That was king of unbelievable too.

That bunny hop was something else. I couldn't believe what I just saw.

Yes - Pogacar's amazing bike handling avoiding the barrier at 30mph alas had the knock on effect that one rider braked as Pogacar suddenly appeared in front of him - and a bunch of riders ended up on the floor. And that bunny hop was astonishing. They guy unclipped one foot in the extreme avoidance, somehow kept upright, and clipped back in.

I don't think this year I´l achieve the good result of last year but I am working very hard for this:

Puede ser una imagen de 5 personas, bicicleta y texto

This year the 10th edition is celebrated and a much tougher journey is expected,

Despite not being at my best physically, I am happy to return and share this special day with my friends and colleagues from other teams. During this time I have received many calls and messages of support and encouragement.

No drama, I'm glad to be back
