Please be careful with that. When I started looking at laser attachments for the Shapeoko I decided the only laser I'd ever let myself near was one in a fully rated enclosure with idiot (me) proof controls. I'd suggest making a pre-burn checklist that you rigorously follow.
November 7, 20205 yr Agreed, coming from a lot of work-related laser work, there's a personal arm/de-arm sequence and there will be an enclosure before anyone else is even in the garage with me. I trust myself, but no one else. Also need an enclosure for fumes anyways.
November 7, 20205 yr The thing I have learned working with a lasers is you need to treat it like a weapon: is it loaded/plugged in, is it safed/armed, is it pointed at the thing I am going to shoot and not at the things I do not want to shoot, am I wearing the safety gear, is everyone else safe or with gear on, do I know what I am doing? Only then, do you press the button. Shitty day out here, trying to motivate myself to head out to the garage and put my words into actions.

November 11, 20205 yr Not sure where to put this, so I'll put it here: Does anyone have any single ended output transformers laying around that they would be willing to lend me for some testing? Specs don't matter much. Primary can be anything from 3K5 to 15K, any secondary appropriate for speakers (4 to 16) is fine. I'll clip lead them in, test them for a bit, and then send them back.
