if they set it up, i really wouldn't worry about it at all. i doubt that the cueing function works by sensing when the stylus hits the record, but if you are going to change the cart in the future, then i'd invest in a gauge.

Congrats Jay, that looks like fun times! To post a pic, all you have to do is right click, select copy image location, and plop that location into a>

When done correctly, it looks like this:

And with flickr, you can hit All Sizes and select which size you like best. Medium or Large usually work best, depending on the image.

Ojhins - Ok, sounds like a plan. It's sounding great at the moment, so I'll probably hold off on a new cartridge for a while.

Al - That's the way I usually do it, was just worried that they would be blocked by the forum. Good to know about the sizing in flickr though. I resized these all to 800x600 before uploading, but in the future when I take some better pics [had crappy lighting] I'll just upload them and then change the size when posting.

Checking out all the little vinyl shops in Toronto has been a blast so far. I've managed to get some pretty good deals too... will take a pic of my meager collection the next time I have the camera out at Rachels place. :)

I figured you knew how to do that, but your comments threw me. Glad it worked out in your new thread. :P

I'd recommend not changing too much on that table. The retro goodness definitely has a value IMO. The high mass arm may be a good match for a Denon DL 103 somewhere down the line, but if it's sounding good ATM just enjoy it.

Lovin' the table and the Marantz!

My best advice would be to clean those records as best you can.

X2 Specially the DL-103 part, now that I know it has a Stanton cart mounted.

I've just taken the plunge on the Fostex T30 Faust3D had for sale. Orthos team, here I come :palm:

Congrats! I thought about it, and made an offer, but am basically glad you got them. I havnt heard a T30 yet, but I am completely happy with my ESP/950 now. I still love all my orthos, and they will remain my work headphones for the foreseeable future. Of course, the T30 look too open to be suitable here. Great driver in there, nice and big. Keep us updated on how you like them.

You are very welcome mate. We'll see, fortunately I've learned not to have high expectations about anything, so whatever they do right will be good.

The worst part will be dwelling into the orthos threads to learn how to tweak them if I find it's necessary :palm:

Good choice. I love the AXIS mechanism.

Nice, got the build planned yet?

Mike, how does that keyboard/mouse work out for you? I had the same thing for my work computer for about a month or so, and ended up going back to wired. Just couldnt deal with the missed keystrokes and mouse tracking, and this wasnt even for games or anything, just porn homework and internet.

Sorry about the delay. The keyboard and mouse work fine for the typical office stuff. I never install the software that comes with these wireless keyboards and mice so I don't have all the features.

Jay, awesome rig! Now if only I could get my hands on a tt.

Pretty sure the T30 will need to be tweaked, so felt will be your friend very shortly. Also, they are not common enough I think for there to be many mods yet that are completely worked out, so expect to have to experiment a bit. All 6 of my orthos have needed the damping modified quite a bit to sound ideal, though I havnt heard a T30, or anything with that type ortho driver.

Guzziguy, nice knife, I EDC a BM555, which is basically the same thing, but a bit different blade profile, and not black.

Mike, It was mainly the typical office stuff I wanted it for, just felt like trying a wireless, and wanted something a bit nicer than the stock dell keyboards we have on everything else. Ended up replacing it with some older stuff I had at home on other rigs, and am much happier.

Any particular reason you went for the LG as opposed to anything else? The 2ms response time, perhaps? I been going back and forth between a 1920x1200 and a 2560x1600 (although at this point, since I already bought the graphics card, I am probably going the latter).
Small can of red paint and a fine paintbrush.

J/K...

Do you need a High res pic of the HP-2's lettering? You'll need black paint too :P

Rear seat cowl for the Kat. Killer price, so what the hell. Low enough that if I decide I hate it, I can flip for profit$

Yes, please. And what's the black paint for?

I should get some ultra-fine sandpaper, too -- don't want it to look too new.

I should misspell something. Gado. HP-2001. Something.

EDIT: Nevermind, don't need the black paint, none of that came off, only the outer circle lettering.

PS What does it say, specifically? Grado something Precision something HP-1000?
