(thinks) Don't remember. Most of the Lucasisms were early in the movie (opening act and credits and the computer "terminal" stuff -- like the three triangles tracking the cars -- throughout), so I don't think so. And yes, it's such a beautiful fucking scene, I think I would've remembered if they fucked with it, but I have to admit, I was in a particularly good mood that night, and was quite forgiving.

I love that movie so hard. Hadn't watched it in a while when we watched it a couple weeks ago. Saw something I don't remember seeing before: The gunman who was controlling the trash man, Batou is saying things like "he's using armor piercing ammo in a cheap submachine gun? Oh, that things gonna overheat and jam for sure" or something to that effect...anyway, just before he lets off one of his final barrages (when they're all standing in about one foot of water), he changes his stance. Because he has armor-piercing ammo in a submachine gun. He practically has to lean into it. I love all the gun talk in those movies. Batou would be right at home on Gun-Fi. "What did you hit it with?" "Oh, just your standard issue BFG." (I know that's not the correct quote, but that's how I would have translated it.)

I love that movie so hard. Need to borrow it from Hirsch and watch it again. And watch all the extras. 'n'stuff.

Yepness! Verizon has a "overpay for the Motorola Droid and get the Eris Droid for free" deal. The catch is, both phones require a data package at $29.95 per. Plus we bought the home network extender because since we have had so many fires the last few years I am sure one of the cell repeater towers burned up and our home signals have started to suck. Now we get four to five bars all the time.

It's been a few years since I last watched it, but I think it was a special high-velocity ammo, and he doesn't just change his stance to keep from falling on his ass, I'm pretty sure it also makes him slide backwards as it fires. I really do love the beatdown he gets from Motoko after that though.

The Blu-Ray of GitS2.0 -- to see if I want it permanently. To see if the extras justify ownership. To see if I want the 2.0 version on Blu-Ray.

Ohhhhh, you were commenting on the movie in general so I thought the borrow bit was part of that as well.

I don't know why they don't just make a properly restored version of the original for Blu-ray. If they got time to redo/modify stuff, then they got time to make a better transfer and clean it up some.
