I have a new black and polar flavor of that one in storage. Complete kits with engraved rehut and 3186 movement.

Vintage Rolex feels very average after handling the current generation. The old bracelets are terrible.

Zach, if it feels too big, I get it, but it really doesn't look too big. Certainly not out of place or gaingly. It's a great looking watch IMO.

This is the issue for me, it doesn't lay flat.

If the new Hodinkee Zenith had been released a year ago, I'd be lining up to get one.  Hopefully Zenith gets the picture and continues on with smaller watches.  This is a great size for a dressy chrono.

You get dumber every time you open your mouth.  It's pretty impressive, really.  The old bracelets are extremely sturdy for their weight.  This is why the Omega 1171 is a classic bracelet design: it doesn't weigh anything, but gets the job done.  These are tool watches.

This is the watch I have always wanted, and it keeps perfect time.

Looks pretty spiffy too.

I thought I had a basic grasp of the tourbillon, until I chanced on a 3-axis version. Just a pity the cages look so roughly finished.

 

This Zenith CP2 reissue is pretty nice, I think.

I wish it weren't 43mm, but I know that the original was, too.  Great typeface on the bezel insert.  Lovely watch. I like that Zenith is getting some real attention in the US, now.

I like it a lot, but my wrist isn't large enough for that size. Reminds quite a bit of some of the Autavia models, but I like its larger subdials. Zenith used to make some of the best movements in the business, but since it's owned by LVMH they're doing some weird things like those silly Rolling Stones tribute watches, or pilot watches that not even Godzilla would wear   This CP2 is awesome.

They still make some of the best movements in the business, even in the Rolling Stones tribute watches.

I agree with both of you! Zenith's horrible aesthetic choices in recent years have definitely let down their very creditable technical heritage.

I kinda miss my 16570, but the Reverso gets a lot more wear than the polar ever did. Not much point wearing a 16570, when you have a 1675.

Anyone seen a Nomos Zurich Worldtimer in person? I am considering this for my 10 year anniversary vs the Grand Seiko Spring Drive Titanium diver.

I've tried it on a few times. The dial is great but the lugs are really quite long, which made it wear a little uncomfortably for me. I think that on a larger wrist it would be fine.

That doesn't sound promising for me then. Thanks for the feedback!
