  • I just had to do again with tiers Tier 1 SR-007 > SR-Ω Tier 2 HE60 > HE90 > SR-4070 Tier 3 SR-Sigma > SR-SC1 > SR-Lambda (open back) >SR-Lambda Signature Tier 4

ESW9 > SA6 > E4g > PX100

I'm still really impressed by what the ESW9 does. I now understand why boomana posted praise so often (which was the reason I got them in the first place).

HP2 > headphiled K340 >> PK2 > UM2 > Darth Beyers > other miscellaneous headphones

hf-1, k-340, sr125, hd580, dt250-80, k-240, hd430, hd535, pro4AA (old school)

SR-303, then AD2000 at the moment.

Shure SE530 > Ety ER4P > PX100, DT770 > JVC FX33

Shure SE530 > Ety ER4P > PX100, DT770 > JVC FX33

Haven't seen you in a while. Klipsch Images sucked?

Modded (by me) AH-D5000 (bal) > MDR-SA5000 (bal) > HD650 (bal) > SE530

I'm a detail/neutrality freak though so I guess most peoples order would be very different.

Haven't seen you in a while. Klipsch Images sucked?

I've been busy! Too many "grown-up" things getting in the way of my hobbies.

I liked the Images. They had a great euphonic sound. Tons of bass, deeeeeeep bass. Reasonably sweet mids. Rolled off highs, but it made for relaxing listening. Good soundstage, great texture. I think it's significant that these were made by speaker guys rather than hearing aid/monitoring people. They sounded more like full-size cans than any other IEM I've heard. I sold them because: (1) the cables were microphonic as hell and seemed flimsy and (2) overall they sound similar to the SE530s which I already own.

Fully modded K340, Chocolate Donuts, Modded deep woody cupped CD3000, Modded HD580, Modded K240 Sextett and Denon AH-D1001. All but the Denons are wired balanced.

What mods, besides the obvious (cable)?

I assume you were talking to me? If so it's the markl mod but done by me and I put a little more fiberfil than he recommended because I thought it still had too much bass so I added some more.

Thanks (yes, I was asking you). I have to admit to not being sure what I was listening to, wouldn't mind hearing those again some time. (I work in Arlington, so it wouldn't be too much of a stretch for me to come to you.)

Sony R10--->Stax Omega II--->AKG K1000--->Headphiled AKG K340s--->Grado HP2-->Grado RS-1--->Stax Lamda Pros--->Senn HD-650--->Headphile CD3000/ATH-A900-->Sony SA5000-->Beyer DT-880-->AKG K701--->Stax SR-404--->Grado SR-60------------------------------>Audio Technica ATH-A900

Out of the main stuff (I really have too much gear):

O2 Mk1 > O2 Mk2 > HD650 balanced > HD600 balanced > K340 > SR-003 > HD600SE > SR-001 > HD650 SE > DT770

No ranking for the H2 or K1000, they aren't working right. When I get them up and running, I suspect the K1k will be around the O2 Mk2 mark, and as for the H2, I have no idea; anything from first place to last place is possible.

What is this?

They are ATH-A900 frames with w1000 earpads and a woodied body that have CD3000 drivers.

I'd guess it's cd3000s with wood shells...
Well, that's the part I'm confused about -- the wood shells aren't indigenous to CD3000's, so that leaves, what, the band and pads?

EDIT #2: PS Enjoyed the "mounting screws" comment. :D

EDIT: Never mind, missed this page. Thanks for the response.
