Well mine doesn't really look like that anymore, but you get my meaning. 

Got a doozy of a nor'easter last night.  The coast (me) was mostly spared.  Inland NH got upwards of a foot.  Reports from Maine are 2'+.  I was visiting friends in Manchester last night and knew it was going to be a slow ride home.

 

I remember those days. I feel for you Nate, keep dry and warm.

I've experienced -40 in Helsinki. What made that trip most surreal is that I flew from Israel where it was +25C. So that flight took me through a delta T of 65C. Then our local marketer took me to a sauna at +100C. That was 12 hours of extreme temperature transitions that I have no real wish to repeat.

But -40 is no-ones idea of a good time - the same temperature as a biotechnology freezer.

Holy shit that's cold!

Somebody really needs to do something about that.

This slope in pic opens up to one of the most crowded places in Istanbul, Harbiye/Osmanbey. and snow fucks up transporting (actually everything) in Istanbul.

No, it's just one of those incredibly catchy tunes.  I can't hear "Instanbul" without hearing "not Constantinople".  An 'earworm', as it were.

Taint really relevant other than earworms. David Lloyd George was a UK politician and was Prime Minister in the first decades of the 1900's. He had a major reputation as a womaniser, and was given the name "The Goat" by his cabinet colleagues. Kitchener was concerned about politicians telling secrets to their wives, other than Lloyd George "who would tell other peoples' wives".  Apparently he also had a truly heroically dimensioned gentelman's sausage.

The earworm is to repeat "Lloyd George knew my father, father knew Lloyd George" to the tune of "Onward Christian Soldiers".

Earworm songs are cool....especially if they are gnarly 70's one-hits.....

I "won" a competition with this one, people voted it even higher than Afternoon Delight.  It wasn't supposed to have video help, but this one did a bit

 

That song is just way too jubilant.  I've never heard it before, but I can see how the phrase, "how do you do" would trigger it if given just the right pacing.  We shall see.

6" of snow yesterday caused schools to close, ice overnight caused delays, 8-12" forecasted for tomorrow means no school again. 

Shockingly, my trip has been extended by a day. 

Glad to have missed that. Major rain storm again today but I am at home and warm and dry.
