September 3, 20169 yr If it was balanced bridged, the balanced input impedance would be double the single ended. It's not and that is odd. The other numbers no one can really dispute until they measure them, the input impedance should be something one can rationalize. It's odd, that's why I brought it up. Glad you are enjoying them, very compact design. How many watts do you believe you are running them at? Any idea what the input voltage is to the amplifier at your usual listening volume? They specify distortion at a much lower power than they are rated, I would assume that is because at full tilt the numbers are (considerably?) higher.
September 3, 20169 yr That's awesome.....I haven't heard any of the recent models, but got to hear the Kipod (v1 I think) in San Francisco some years back driven by Moon separates. You could tell something special was going on, and these weren't even run for 50 hours yet.....
September 8, 20169 yr Tom has a fantastic vinyl collection, and while he may have a DAC or a CDP laying around, he's almost all vinyl. I always enjoyed chilling in the listening room in Atlanta, and would love to make it up to VA. Perhaps one day. **BRENT**
September 8, 20169 yr Tom and his wife are super cool. You guys should really visit his listening room. I sure miss having both of them down here that's for sure.
September 28, 20169 yr Looks interesting: http://www.soundonsound.com/news/atc-reveal-compact-passive-nearfield-monitor
September 29, 20169 yr Aaw - that's not speaker porn. *This* is speaker porn (note the fire extinguisher..) "I've bought some new speakers, honey" (sound of door slamming)
September 29, 20169 yr I like the "resonance control devices" on top of the speaker boxes in the bottom pic!

September 30, 20169 yr I love Focal, but these are some ugly ass speakers: Much prefer the red ones, the black ones (of course) and even the white ones to these.
September 30, 20169 yr The red ones are pretty visually loud as well, but for some reason, I'm alright with them. But the blue ones put me in mind of those bright LEDs that some audiophile equipment have, that just hurt my eyes. It's too vibrant.
October 12, 20169 yr That's a good point, I wouldn't exactly throw them out if I were "stuck" with them.
October 12, 20169 yr As a gay man I'm given a secret packet that greatly expands my abilities on certain skill sets. One of those being interior design. While I'm not supposed to impart any of that knowledge to heterosexual America, I will go so far as to suggest that some strategically placed artwork could marry these sound transducers to your living room.
October 13, 20169 yr Possible speaker porn Wireless , Active, KEF LS50's, pre-order from tomorrow! http://www.digitalaudioreview.net/2016/10/future-fi-now-kefs-ls50-wireless-active-loudspeaker/
October 13, 20169 yr I would categorize those more as speaker soft core, not actual porn. Still interesting though.
October 14, 20169 yr ...some fresh colour combinations might help separate this new active LS50 model from the passive version: Titanium Grey/Red; Gloss Black/Blue; Gloss White/Copper. Wait, those are new colour combinations? Oh, oh, oh, the passive ones were gloss black/copper and gloss white/blue, so the other way 'round.

October 15, 20169 yr Just to be clear, I don't find them attractive, but I know how to work them in. Use a slow night in a gay bar as an analogy.
November 16, 20169 yr Author Those tubes are almost $2,000 a pop I think I remember reading. Happy rolling.
