November 9, 20205 yr Quote I started this project with the V.B.S.S. units back in April. For the money, you just can't beat what you get from these things. Check out here for more info, if you want to look into doing some yourself. Next, I decided that given how fun the sub project was.. maybe there was also good value in other DIY speakers? ..and I think this should have been an obvious answer. Yes. After many questions to the kind fellas at the diy part of avs forums.. I went with the DIYSG 1099s. (Read more about them here.) I got the kits, and built them up. Man.. is it an understatement to say that I love them. haThey sound so clear and so far, have proven themselves good for everything.. movies.. music.. I've had them running for about a month now, and they are incredible. The high sensitivity of the Klipsch 8" units I had before was good.. but these are just in another class. Lastly, I just finished my own design for the tv cabinet. I built it to house the center 1099, as it's rather large. I'm no expert woodworker, but I think it turned out pretty nice! So if you are a brave person, and don't mind a bit of DIY work.. there is absolutely an unbeatable value to be had here. :)Only bad thing is.. will I really stop here? Hmmm.. haha *equipment list* Vizio PQ65-F1 / Denon 2300w / Behringer NX3000D / Xbox1S / Gaming PC / PS4 / Nintendo Switch / 2 V.B.S.S. units / 3 DIYSG 1099s
November 13, 20205 yr I dunno, can i post this here? The leather was just an idea - making some matching wood pulls would be cool - maybe when things die down at M&O of course my speaker cables are too short, but going to do my best to get these playing tonite - I found some Romex in the garage..
November 13, 20205 yr Damn those look great! The Wenge is so rich and the grills you made really finish them off beautifully! You just can't tell from the pics how complicated the folded horn section is. I've never seen, let alone been involved with such a complex folded horn. I can't even remember how many pieces were involved in making it, but it was a lot. Do they have the new drivers in? You should be very proud!
November 13, 20205 yr Lowther TP-1? Lord, those must sound incredible! (the one certainly looks incredible)
November 14, 20205 yr Those must be Tannoys? Can't make out what's under the drivers. The Nagra amps are awesome!

The tile in the fireplace is the one thing I like. November 16, 20205 yr I dig the wallpaper, but any idea why there's a human skull inside the leopard/jaguar skull? Is it a Aztec thing or turducken thing?
