December 31, 200916 yr Happy new year everybody!! About 30 minutes left to go here and the sky is already lit up and will stay so until well past 1am.
January 1, 201016 yr I dont like what people are calling the last decade (aughts), and the lack of consensus about what to call the next one. I just don't like hearing about this 'last decade' when the decade in question doesn't actually end for another year. I don't know why it bothers me, it just does. Predictably, I had similar experience at the end of year 2000. In any case, happy new year to all.

January 1, 201016 yr Author it's just whether you assign zero or one when counting. starting at zero makes as much sense to me but recalling passage of events is really up to the memory of each individual and of course counting from zero can be just as arbitrary as counting from 1. IMO there is far more going on than I can list, therefor recollection is cherry picking at best
January 1, 201016 yr Yeah happy 2010 and shit. x2 The correct way to say it is "Happy New Year's" because New Year's Day is the holiday being celebrated, as opposed to the whole year.
January 1, 201016 yr Happy New Year! Sydney was crazy packed this year... even more than 09 which is pretty impressive.
January 1, 201016 yr This year I resolve to quit writing 1974 on my checks. If I can get through the first couple of weeks of January, I should be alright.
