nice. sprouts are definitely up there for me. i think Swiss Chard is my absolute favorite veggie, though. especially wilted and then sautéed with shallot and butter, topping crostini with beef marrow.

Splash in a little balsamic next time. Tasty.

Oh, and please to post your okra tempura and vertical potatoes recipes and techniques. Thanks.

Thanks Jacob. Those potatoes look tasty. Would go great with leg of lamb with mustard garlic sauce!

Reks, the stuff you make always sounds so good.

I haven't been doing much cooking the last month or two. Didn't even realize that my Traeger Wasn't working until I tried to fire it up last week. Got that sorted out and smoked a tri tip today which was pretty good. I'm defrosting some spare ribs for tomorrow.

you just like the idea of chicken drippings. :) i made Michael Ruhlman's French onion soup last night. first time i'd made French onion soup. now that i've made a super authentic version, i can make it with beef stock, so that Emily likes it. ah man it was good, though. i caramelized 5 pounds of onions over the course of 7 hours. so rich and deep.

I would like this recipe if you can send it.

Homemade Mexican lasagna. I combined the best aspects of the Cook's Illustrated traditional recipe for lasagna with a Mexican lasagna recipe. Just because I fucking could.

Picture incoming when it's done (right now I'm sauteeing myself in Margarita).

Happy Birthday Emily! :jbl: That dinner sounds the awesome.

Egg fried rice with mushrooms and dried birdseye chilis with s-v chicken breast in satsuma, sesame seed, styronese sauce

Roasting a chicken over a bed of anise, onion, shallots, garlic, carrots, potato, sweet potato, and thyme. I love the anise roasted with chicken drippings.

Finally opened my Modernist Cuisine at Home. It's one of the most awesomest cookbooks I've ever seen (I don't have their "big book").

I guess I have to go buy some kind of sous vide contraption. This is not a complaint.

You better wait to find out how they turn out before you say that. ;)

Yum, pecan pie! I was going to make one but my son requested a key lime pie. Made two key lime and one blueberry.

Turkey is on the smoker. Jp's breast goes on at 1:15 and it's quite a nice breast.
