IPB 3.2 Upgrade

See this from time to time. workaround I use is

  • post
  • see "saving post" hang
  • open thread / previous post in new tab, note my new post has appeared in full at end of thread
  • close "saving post" tab

I would be nice if it didn't happen, but it's not the end of the world

It seems to post (refresh shows it worked)...

But just hangs on the page

I'm more concerned about when search will return TBH, which I've been using a lot recently.

Three letters might be too short for the search to bother with it - I'll have to check on those settings.

I think it is broken completely (including in thread search) even with words longer than three letters

When right clicking on images to save them (slow forum), right clicking brings up the "full size picture display" thing, even when the picture isn't so big it needs to be shrunk down.

Ok the search thing was my bad - I had to update the config file for the 3rd party search tool in use and forgot to restart the daemon for it :(

Thanks a lot Todd. In thread search is still broken, and was a huge benefit for finding info in the long DIY threads.

Not sure if this has been covered or not but when in Firefox 5 I reply to a thread it just sticks at "saving post" and when I hit refresh the post has gone through. Any ideas?

Edit: Scratch that, it worked perfectly this time...?

I've got this error message when replying to a post by Tyll. Bug or feature?

Thanks Al. I figured it was a "Firefox" thing and searched for that. Then I realized that I should have searched for "saving post". :palm:

I'm having trouble using mobile theme. Whenever I switch to the mobile theme, it works fine but when I log on my laptop, it seems to still want to display the mobile theme so I have to switch back to normal. Seems like the forum remembers the last theme you used and then forces that on the next machine you use regardless if it's a mobile device or not. The old software didn't have this issue....any ideas folks?

I'm sort of having the opposite issue of what Raffy is experiencing - I cannot access the mobile view/theme on my phone at all. I click on the mobile link at the bottom of the page and it simply refreshes with the standard theme still in place. Logging out and back in, resetting cookies, cache, and history, etc. didn't correct this.

Beyond that, the new look is pretty slick and I like it quite a bit.

Is tapatalk broken now?

Good catch - I checked with Tapatalk - it's a known issue and they are working on it. No ETA yet but knowing them it'll probably only be a few days. In the mean time the regular mobile version of the site works pretty well.

So I'm not exactly sure what was going on but mobile is now running normal on my iPhone. I'm guessing either my phone or I was being stupid.

Photo galleries should be working now, finally - I believe most user levels outside of guests and basic registered users should have the ability to create their own albums. If not let me know.

Raffy, I actually had that on the last version of the software.

Very nice upgrade. Thank you :)

I also wanted to echo Deepak's concern on the Search within a topic. It simply shows the Topic header as the only result, but not the posts.

Todd,

I deleted some message notifications, but it appeared to also delete the message thread as well. I don't see them in my inbox now, but when I try to access the threads via previous notifications, I get this error:

[#10229] We could not determine which message you were attempting to view.
