Hey everyone- I'm in a bit of a pickle. I've run out of kick ass speculative fiction to read, and I need recommendations. Sci-fi/fantasy is such a scary genre to navigate. One second a book's premise seems promising, but then it delves into childish writing and predictable situations. I'm a short way into Peter Brett's The Warded Man, and it reminded me of these types of pitfalls. Of course it is hard to trust amazon-type reviews of fantasy, because not all fantasy readers are as discerning as me, you, and everyone else who likes good things. I was cleaning out my ears and my sink in my second bathroom doesn't drain well and started to fill up. I foolishly had my Zen on the towel rack right above the sink and of course in fell right in. I was only submerged for a second or two but that was enought for it to start flashing primary colours and then settle on the color pink for a while and then switch to blue and then black. I immediately opened it up and dried out all the water I could see. I put it on one of the air induction vents for the central heating in hopes that it will dry out all the way and work in a few hours. We'll see! I was browsing the web and found something I thought is pretty cool, but couldn't find an existing thread to post it in. I would like to move my cable modem and router into the office (one room over from the tv with not much of a wall in between) so to avoid having to use a splitter and remove clutter from the living room. However, most of our tv watching is watching steaming video through netflix or mlb on the ps3. Does anyone have experience wirelessly streaming with the ps3. The router I have is an newish Airport Extreme but I think the ps3 is restricted to wireless g (not 100% sure). I guess I could get an Apple TV for the living room if needed since I stream to those in other rooms and it seems to work well.

My latest baby is a tiny little black and white four year old with a lot of Maine Coon in him: Ghost is a tiny little thing, weighing a bit over 21 pounds. The other cats here weren't happy about another one coming in, but he's too big for them to do anything about it. Things have calmed down, and the other cats have more or less accepted him (probably better than they accept each other). The big guy is a dedicated lap cat, and likes to help me at the computer. He's a big friendly cat, and he's finally found a permanent home.
